Good hotel with free wifi. Very friendly people to help you. Price is good including breakfast.
Not in the centre but that was no problem for us. restaurant not very busy, better take taxi who are standing on the front road.

Room tip: Take a deluxe room.

Hotel has 120 rooms on 6 floors. All rooms are non-smoking. Smoking permitted in large, adjoining, open-air hotel restaurant (WIFI works well here). No balconies off any rooms . 2 fast elevators. FREE, fast, reliable WIFI. Hotel opened in 2009 and is owned by a Khon Kaen family. Free outdoor guest parking acrooss the street with 24 hour attendant. One complimentary computer available to guests in lobby.
LOCATION - Assuming normal traffic, approximately 45 min. from airport and 25 min. from city centre. Hotel is situated about 150 m. back from Mittrapap Rd. on a quiet soi. Good for sleeping.
NEARBY SERVICES - Enormous indoor day market approx. 100 m. from front door (predominantly clothing). Nearest 7-11 store approx. 1 km. east on Mittrapap Rd. large Tesco Store across Mittrapap Rd. about 10 min. walk to the west. Macro mega store (groceries, electronics, appliances, etc.) immediately behind hotel. Massage parlour across soi from front door.
RECEPTION - Fast, friendly check-in. English limited here and throughout the hotel but help is always nearby. Lobby is bright, spacious and welcoming.
HOUSEKEEPING - Of the highest standard throughout the hotel.
ROOMS - Bright, nicely appointed, tile floors, good mattresses (a little firm) with quality bed linen, flat screen TV with several English channels, excellent air con. Rooms have western-style bathroom with quality plumbing fixtures. All rooms have shower only - no bathtubs. Overall, rooms are quite nicely appointed and comfortable. Rooms on back of hotel overlook Makro parking lot.
RESTAURANT/DINING - Room rates include breakfast. Fairly good hot buffet but definite emphasis on Thai food. For Westerners there are fried eggs, ham, toast, juice, coffee & tea, More English spoken by staff in restaurant than rest of hotel. Food Services Manager, Nung, and staff member, Rung (female) speak very good English. Service is good and plentiful in restaurant. Lunches and dinners ordered off the menu are excellent. Tasteful, live music (vocalist) is served up every evening for dinner (7:30 - 9:00 PM ??). Don't be fooled by how few people eat here for lunch and dinner.
HOTEL MANAGER - Anan is extremely friendly and accomodating and speaks very good English.
SUMMARY - Hotel is a bit remote as far as nightlife and stores for shopping are concerned. A taxi to town centre would be requried. Be sure to use only METER TAXIS as others will frequently try to gouge you. Meter cabs are very reasonable. The purpose of my trip to Khon Kaen was to have some reasonably priced dental work done at the nearby 2 Dentist Clinic. The two dentists that attended to me there were both highly educated and competent. Aside from the somewhat remoteness of the hotel it represents good value and won't disappoint.

You'll ideally need your own transport for this place as it's about 10 minutes from the centre of Khon Kaen.
I booked a Deluxe King Room which is a large bedroom with quite a big seating area with sofa. The bed is very comfortable and the room is well appointed.
Staff are friendly but don't have a lot of English, not an issue for me.
The restaurant was the surprise for me. It's a big place with separate karaoke rooms and I hadn't intended eating there but I felt like a few beers and decided to stay local. The food was excellent, highly recommended.
Finally, the price - this place is cheap as chips.

We stayed at the Pratunam Hotel Khon Kaen because my wife wanted to go shopping in the enormous fashion market just outside the doors (Pratunam Khon Kaen). We were really bowled over by the exceptional quality for 700 THB a night.

The rooms were small but clean, the service excellent, the food in the restaurant really nice (even my Thai born wife agreed), asked for an extra pillow and it arrived promptly, our room telephone broke down and was replaced in a jiffy, exceptionally clean.

PROS:
Clean, good service, nice rooms, good bathrooms, super quick WIFI, really big breakfast buffet with western and Thai food.

CONS:
WIFI not free, breakfast a bit cold (really tasty though), the outdoor restaurant was perhaps in need of some TLC, they were obviously ripped off by their bathroom supplier because the fixtures and ceiling framework were not stainless and therefor looked a bit tattered (but that´s just nitpicking), not much of a night life (10 km from the city).

ROOM TIP: choose rooms that end with 16 or higher so you sleep as far away from the main road as possible.

I stayed here three nights, not near the city but located right next to one of the best markets in Khonkaen. The rooms are clean with modern tv and comfortable beds slight mould on bathroom ceiling, bed comfortable and I had a very good sleep. There is a restaurant next door great breakfast I think westerners get a better deal with the breakfast as it is cooked fresh as opposed to the thai breakfast buffet. Parking your car can be an issue during market time but not a massive problem. Good stay was had will choose again.
