Located slightly off the city center, it is nonetheless only 2 min walk from the beach, in an area with much less people but as much great beach!
The hotel is in a quiet area, many rooms are small bungalows with lots of space inside. The inside of the rooms and all the hotel is made of old wood in traditional thai style , very cute. Ruenkanok refers to "ruen" = house (old thai word) and kanok is an ancient form of thai decorative art --which we find in many paintings/ drawings of mythical creatures.
It is built with inner courtyards where you can sit peacefully and there is also a nice pool if you want to dip in non salted water.
The breakfast is amazingly good with many options for all tastes-- including "rotchat kon thai" (real thai taste) options which should not be missed! (I mostly eat only thai food).
The staff is super nice and helpful-- in Thai and in English.
The hotel also runs a café (slightly hidden from within) which has very good coffees/ desserts.
There are plenty of food options close by-- you can walk easily to CIcada market and other local food places. For a night market visit, you would best off to take a transport though as it's further.More
