Foremost, I am aware that this is a 3-star hotel. Therefor, this review is for a 3-star level hotel.
Cleanliness level is low. Mold around the bathroom. Carpet is dirty. Room maintenance poor, eg : crooked wall electrical sockets, askew wall paintings, leaking kettle, etc.
Thais are generally friendly people. Unfortunately, the front desk staff are grouchy and dour. Concierge/bellboy are only interested in arranging itinerary and tours for their own additional side income.
Room size is generous and sufficient.
Location of the hotel is just across the road from Kim Yong market for local foodstuff and shopping. Hotel is just 5 minutes' walk from Lee Garden Plaza. Very convenient.
I will probably not stay here again as there are better quality hotels for same price in this city.

The hotel is located right at the centre of the town where shops , market and hawker stalls are easily accessible. The staff are very friendly although they do not speak good English. The check-in and check-out service was efficiently done. The room was clean and spacious , the water pressure satisfactory and the air-conditioner good.
The best part of it is that there are many varieties of hawker food available at the vicinity of the hotel. The taste of these hawker food is better than those offered by the hotel so much so that some guests prefer to eat outside rather than at the restaurant of the hotel.( Another reason is to save cost because the breakfast available at the hotel is not cheap).
The massage service is easily available around the corner and the stalls along the street in front of the hotel are selling clothes and T-shirts at a very reasonable price. Other items displayed include cashew nuts, ground nuts and fresh fruits.

Room Tip: Choose the room nearer to the lift for who are obese

The hotel is a great place to bunk in. Nothing fancy but great old simple accommodation. Good, clean and straight forward. The rooms are clean and simple. Room, bedsheets and toilets are kept well. No funny smell. Service reasonable for English is not widely used here. The location is excellent. Walk around and you can find your hearts desire. Prices are reasonable, yet buyers beware. The market nearby is a goldmine for local products. The food great, the prices... U be the judge when you are here. For now, I would revisit this hotel with my buddies when we have the chance to come again.

Hotel location is near to the small morning market. Is about 5 minutes walk. The Odeon Supermarket is about 15-20 minutes walk. 7 - 11 & family mart is just opposite the hotel. Room was spacious & the bed is so comfy to sleep. Reflexology shop also nearby. If you plan to visit the old market, you have to go by Tuktuk instead.

Many years ago I stayed in this same hotel. I think it was called New Season, the facade of the building remains the same, and the skyline of the hotel is the same, clean, impressive and shining with reflections of the setting sun in the afternoon. Now it is called Golden Crown Plaza and can be mistaken for another hotel called Golden Crown Hotel.
We were on a tour and the check-in to the hotel was wonderful. All of us, one busload full were checked into the hotel in very short time. The routine of the check-in, however, is unique. All surrendered our passports to the reception and they kept our passports until our departure.
My wife and I were allocated a big corner room at the 7th floor. The room looked alright with windows facing the popular Kim Yong Market. The central aircon, possible for adjustment makes our stay comfortable. We had a good sleep the first night and the rest of the nights.
What we liked about the place is its location. It's walking distance to the 'small' market (Kim Yong), to Lee Gardens for the buffet and night market and to the nearest and good massage centre, though right at the hotel lobby there is also one.
In the morning, some women-hawkers sell their 'homecook' dumplings and what-not at the 'five-way' of the hotel. Typical of tourists, we started buying and soon the hawkers sold all their wares. A tuk-tuk vehicle stationed itself with the driver along the road infront of the hotel for those who liked to visit the 'big' market. When one took off with passengers, another came along.....Early morning a group of monks wearing their distinctive saffron-orange robes walking to the market to seek for alms was a sight to marvel.
