Stayed for 9 nights in August, this time in an executive suite on the 22nd floor (2201). Previous stays have been in a normal suite, really like the updated decor in the executive suites plus the benefits of the executive lounge.. Only really used the lounge for the afternoon drinks session from 5-7pm, seemed the be fairly well patronized by other people staying on the premier floors.

It was great to see the resident manager around the complex a lot, very interactive with the staff and the guests alike.

It was good to see the company who looks after the transfers to hua hin and cha am has changed from our last visit, the previous guy ( Hawaiian shirt) didn't seem like he actually wanted to do it .. They new guy is amazing and the other people at the transport desk in the lobby we great we used them a few times to go places.

The only thing that during our stay which concerned me was on our last day I went to look out the window facing towards the village and noticed the is nothing to restrict how far you can open it. I opened the window and it opens all the way, it would concern me if I had children and in a room on the 22nd floor with a window the you can open fully. Should have something to restrict it after 20 or so centimeters.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights at the beginning of August. It was great for the kids, they loved the slide however was a bit dismayed that there was no pool attendant watching the queue at the top of the slide which at times was full of kids... There was also an unpleasant smell from the small estuary running at the side of the Hotel which really does need to be sorted.

We sampled the food in the restaurant (closest to the beach) which was lovely however the breakfast wasn't the best. Very little by way of an english breakfast and i felt they catered more for Thai/international. Eggs/bacon were always empty and because they were refilled at different times it was only possible to eat one item at a time instead of a full breakfast, even after a 20minute wait and addressing it with the head chef.

There are some lovely little bistros down the road from the hotel so worth a walk.
The rooms were very clean but could do with a bit of renovation here and there. Overall not a problem tho and comfy. Check in was very slow and check out was not much better serving more than one customer at a time and often quite chaotic.. Don't forget the pool towel cards at checkout, we left them in the room by accident and we were asked to go all the way back up to get them before they would allow us to check out! Given the lifts are tremendously slow and we had a minibus waiting it was very inconvenient to say the least.
Overall no major issues and i would stay here again.

I decided to go to a beach resort for 1-2 days, waiting my further schedule to be fixed.

Arrived by a Über-taxi without any booking.

The check in staff was very friendly. It was obvious that they didn't have too many quests.

Very nice room, empty refrigerator.

Excellent pool area with bar and water-slides.

Went to the beach; warning sign about jellyfish and sharp rocks. Low tide, and the beach was thereby useless. Did not see anybody swimming.

Nice breeze in the pool area, but if I was looking for a pool resort - there would be much closer alternatives than Hua Hin - a 2.000 Baht taxi ride from Bkk-airport.

We stay at Novotel cha am and we are very positively surprised by the hotel. We will come back for sure.

1 nice and clean rooms with good view
2 nice for family with children. Good swimming pools and spacious kid club
3 good breakfast with very delicious fresh bread and vast choice of food.
4 price with agoda is very reasonable. We extended one night with standard hotel price which was double but our mistake. We enjoyed very much and decided to stay one more night.

You can feel the hotel is not so new like some others but very well managed and maintained. The resident manager introduced himself and the foreign cook inspected the breakfast room in the morning. Things work in a very professional manner which is not obvious in all Thai hotels even luxury ones. We stayed at holiday inn krabi before heading to cha am and Novotel was so much better.

Also the customer mix is very nice and balanced. Western and Asian including Thai people (instead of holiday inn krabi allocating almost all rooms to Chinese tour operators transforming the hotel into a mess without any control by hotel management)

Keep up the good work Novotel cha am. We will come back !
