We spent 5 nights in the hotel 2 years ago and got a good impression. This time we spent here only 2 nights and we found the hotel unchanged. For good and for bad nothing changed at all. It means that all furniture and worn room equipment is still as it was 2 years ago. The hotel is definitively not renovated from last time. Swimming pool is still an asset but it is not too much more out of this. Fortunate, the room price dropped since our last visit to 65 US per night comparing with 95 US 2 years ago. Both visits in mid January.

No front door. Poor reception. Feeling of insecurity. Dirty. Very hot hall ways. Simple key to open bedroom door. Many dirty things in bedroom like coffee tray. Dining hall looked like a canteen . Nice personnel but their clothes were not clean.

Room tip: Go somewhere else

Stayed 1 night. We choose this hotel to stay our last night before flight home because it is 20 mins drive from airport and we could also see the Negombo beach.
Hotel seems to be TUI destination.
However the rooms were pretty worn out, mold in bathroom and very weird door locks. ( door wont lock unless you lock it from inside before you go out).
Hotel is ok for a night or two but not more due to sewage smell and crappy beach.
Beach in front of the hotel was full of rubbish and dirt.

So the hotel itself isn't too bad. The pool is quite nice and it's right on the beach.

Unfortunately the staff weren't very friendly and I found I had to check every bill I received a few times as there were often random charges for drinks of people who were sitting near but had nothing to do with me or my family. Also some staff would tell me one thing and then others would tell me something something completely different so it was hard to get a straight answer.

There was also some other guests staying there who were basically having a shouting match with the manager on a daily basis so the vibe wasn't great in general.

Room was reasonably clean.

My fiance and I travelled from Australia through Sri Lanka in March for a friend's wedding and loved the accommodation available in Sri Lanka. We had another wedding to attend this December and the couple organised for the family to stay at paradise beach hotel. Firstly the hotel charged our entire group above the price you could get online although blocked out the dates until closer to the wedding so our group was unable to book.

We knew what type of rooms to expect for the price as we had travelled previously around Sri lanka and was extremely dissapointed in the rooms when we entered. Other family members had blood stains on the sheets, bed bugs and generally dirty pillows.

There was constantly no hot water in the rooms. The bathrooms were dirty and old.

As we had a large group we opted for the christmas buffet dinner. The main food was terrible and the desert was infested with ants and some jelly deserts had mosquitos in them. Finally they tried to charge people that had not even checked in on the 25th for the buffet.

The staff were rude and inconsistent. They required some guest to pay cash on the spot and others allowed to charge to the room.

We made a formal complaint to the tourism police about the hotel as we hope no other guest have to deal with the scammers at this hotel.

If you want to stay in negcombo i suggest looking around this hotel as there are cheaper and cleaner options in walking distance.
