We stayed for 3 nights at the end of a tour of Sri Lanka before returing home. This is indeed a great hotel to unwind, relax, and use for seeing Galle Fort which is close by. The hotel has 2 large swimming pools, a small private beach; although the sea waters are not recommended for swimming. The spa was good. The buffet restaurant changed theme each night and had good food, whilst the 'fine-dining' Cinnamon restauarant was a little over-rated and lacked atmosphere. My only complaint after a good stay was the slow check-out procedure with only one staff on the ground floor desk manning reception, telephome reservations and check-out. It is especillay an issue when a tour group of 30 people queue to check-out and I would expect Jetwing to better staff its functions.

Thank you for choosing to stay with us for the last three nights of your holiday on the island together with the rest of your group of friends. We are very pleased in knowing you found the hotel to be a great place to unwind and relax at. The Galle Fort which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the largest remaining fortress in Asia built by European occupiers is the best attraction in Galle is certainly only a short distance from the hotel.

Thank you for your honest feedback on our fine dining restaurant. We value your comments greatly and we will be looking into ways of creating a better atmosphere at the restaurant with urgency. We are very sorry to know that your check out process took a while which we know is a hassle. Please know that we have a designated telephone operator as well as a reservations agent and cashiers throughout the day and we have informed our Front Office Manager of this so as to rectify the matter with urgency.

Again, thank you for your honest feedback of your experience in staying at our resort. We value guest feedback such as yours greatly as it helps us in maintaining our high standards.

This is a good hotel, but it doesn't quite live up to everything it promises. The rooms are comfortable enough on the "club" side of the hotel and the views are very good given the hotel's privileged position on the rocky shore.

We booked the airport transfer from the hotel. This was ok, but for USD150, you might expect a 2hr transfer to include a couple of water bottles etc. It's this type of little detail that is missing here.

The hotel website includes references to childcare and babysitting, but when we asked for this it suddenly seemed very difficult to arrange. There is no playroom for kids and the pools are not particularly kid friendly. A playroom is such a small investment of space that makes such a difference to parents. It really is unacceptable that a family hotel doesn't have one. There is a little paddle pool for kids but it's tucked away in a corner and it seems an afterthought.

Our main issue during our stay was the varying quality of service staff. Most of the breakfast staff are young boys and men who generally are unsure of what they should be doing. The either hover over you incessantly at the table or then chat in groups and largely ignore you. In general, nothing was very easy to arrange. Excursions always required several clarifications and reiterations. Even then we were left in some doubt as to what would actually happen.

The tuktuk drivers outside the hotel operate a bit of a racket whereby each guest is allocated to one driver who then views you as their property for the duration of your stay and tries to push services and shops to you. It's fair enough perhaps, but tiresome after a while.

Overall, the recently opened Amari hotel a few hundred yards up the coast looks like a far better choice for families. We ended up paying the dayrate there a couple of times just to have access to their services. Rooms there look better too for lower rates.

Overall Jetwings was ok. But no better than that.

First and foremost please allow us to express our most sincere apologies for the inconveniences you have faced while holidaying with us. We are deeply disappointed in reading your review and knowing you were not satisfied with vacationing with us.

We understand that minor details such as providing water when you are picked up for a long journey goes a long way. We are thankful for your suggestion and we will look into immediately implementing such a system which would offer a better service to our valuable guests.

Please note that as mentioned on our website babysitting is certainly provided at the resort. We have well experienced ladies at the hotel who are professionally qualified to care for children and will carry out their duties in the guest's private room where the child is most comfortable or any specific area requested by the guests. We feel this offers a more personalized service rather than the more convenient way of caring for all children at one given time and place. However in order to carry out this personalized service babysitting requests needs to be informed a little ahead of time so that the ladies too can allocate their timings clearly for each of the different children. We fear this may have been your inconvenience, not being able to make prior arrangements. we are truly very sorry if your requests were not met.

However we are thankful for your suggestion of having a central child care centre and your most valuable feedback will be shared with our higher management.

Please accept our most sincere apologies for the inconvenience you have faced at the restaurant. Rest assured your feedback has been taken seriously. The Restaurant Manager as well as our Training Manager have been informed of this for immediate rectification. Service such as this is definitely not the Jetwing way and we are truly very sorry that you had to face such a situation of negligence.

Kindly know Sir that the hotel does not have its own transportation division, rather recognizing our social responsibilities towards our community the privilege has been offered to our townspeople so as to contribute to sustainable development. These individuals have been trained by the hotel in order to offer an equally professional service to our esteemed guests. We are very sorry to know you were inconvenienced by them and we will definitely inform them of your feedback in order to prevent such incidents occurring in future.

We spent a fabulous 6 nights at this hotel in mid October. Our room was spacious and the bed extremely comfortable, it must have been 7’ across! We were in the block nearest reception and we had fabulous sea views from the balcony.
We only used the Cardamom Restaurant for our meals as it seemed to be good value. The food was delicious especially the buffet breakfast. You can sit outside and watch the waves crashing on the rocks below.
The main swimming pool is heavenly, especially for an early evening swim, before dinner.
As the hotel is a short tuktuk ride from Galle Old Town and we spent several happy days exploring there and even had dinner at The Forte Bazaar Hotel one evening.
The staff are always polite, courteous and helpful and we would have loved to stay longer.

Nice hotel, great beds, nice people, clean rooms, good food and drinks!

Nothing bad to say. Two pools, some restaurants and a great view.

We enjoyed our time. We stayed in the 'club' section, with bigger rooms (nr.23).

Go to the turtle hatchery cente, just 3 min walking.

From Galle town it's an about one hour drive, on the main road itself, they have the amazing buffet and salad corner to die for (sushi, too cold meat) and amazing spacious rooms and recommended for anyone who's looking for a relaxing time. You have to get yourself a massage as they have this amazing spa facility and you can book it prior it's bit expensive but if you are tired after a sea bath needs to relax you better check the place out. The pool is facing the sea and you can have an evening walk. Service of the hotel is excellent they always welcome you with a smile.
