Description: The Fort Printers offers a fresh and vibrant menu that uses predominantly fresh seafood and organic local produce. The chiefs plan the menu for the day based on guests’ preferences, and lovingly create soups, mezzes, and mains comprising grilled fresh seafood, Mediterranean inspired specialties, and traditional Sri Lankan rice and curry (which includes several vegetable dishes and at least one fish or meat curry). As seafood and particularly yellow fin tuna is abundant in the area, you can expect to find dishes with sashimi, grilled or seared tuna, lobster, prawns and several kinds of fish. The meals are served in the frangipani courtyard overlooking the thin lap pool or in the grand dining room and at times to suit the whims of the guests.

We have been here twice and both times the food and drinks have been excellent. We visited for lunch this time knowing that we had a good experience overall.
On arrival it's very confusing as there was no staff and we were standing around wondering. Finally we were greeted by a man in a grey shirt who I was thinking was part of the hotel or management. He showed us where we could sit, either inside or out and then just left us. We just then sat down. Menus arrived without any fanfare. One of the waiters would be around and then nothing. We waited 15 minutes before anyone served us, even with one of the waiters being there and literally looking in the other direction.
Once our orders were taken, Sanjeewa the mainwaitee was extremely attentive and friendly. The food exceptional! The mahi mahi fish and lobster tacos yummo. Being frequent travellers to Galle, I would love to return.
One thing, they really need to differentiate between hotel and restaurant. Sanjeewa was very good but did apologise because a party came through to check in and he had to help. 4stars solely for food and Sanjeewa's service.

We initially ventured in for relief from the heat, beautiful inviting building, and had a beer and a Margarita. We love Margarita's and have them everywhere, this is a good as they come , thank you Gayan, not just a wonderful waiter but a brilliant cocktail maker.
We had lunch, the curry was extraordinary, about 6 condiments attended a beautifully subtle fish curry. To die for.
Was so good we ventured back the next night for dinner, happily Gayan was on duty as was the Manager, totally charming and welcoming, so pleased to see return customers.
Food was brilliant.
This place is a must, but book if going for dinner, it is very popular.
Happily heading back at the end of our trip, so look forward to another drink.

We ate here for our one night stay in Galle after reading reviews on Trip Advisor. We were not disappointed. We had the lobster curry and the fish curry. The food was really tasty. The service was fine. We booked a table on the terrace which added interest to the evening. The wine list was very good. Worth paying a little extra for a really nice dining experience.

The restaurant is amazing and has such a great vibe, the different sections of the place all have slightly different feels.. the food was fresh, tasty and well worth it. A nice drinks list with an OK wine list. Service was a bit slow, but good. The best food I have had in Sri Lanka.
