We have been here twice and both times the food and drinks have been excellent. We visited for lunch this time knowing that we had a good experience overall.
On arrival it's very confusing as there was no staff and we were standing around wondering. Finally we were greeted by a man in a grey shirt who I was thinking was part of the hotel or management. He showed us where we could sit, either inside or out and then just left us. We just then sat down. Menus arrived without any fanfare. One of the waiters would be around and then nothing. We waited 15 minutes before anyone served us, even with one of the waiters being there and literally looking in the other direction.
Once our orders were taken, Sanjeewa the mainwaitee was extremely attentive and friendly. The food exceptional! The mahi mahi fish and lobster tacos yummo. Being frequent travellers to Galle, I would love to return.
One thing, they really need to differentiate between hotel and restaurant. Sanjeewa was very good but did apologise because a party came through to check in and he had to help. 4stars solely for food and Sanjeewa's service.
