A historic monument on Haeundae Beach, Busan, South Korea, built in the late 70's. Probably the last building standing in Haeundae from that time, now drowned by concrete monsters up to 100 floors high. Chosun beach hotel have just 10 floors but have best location on the beach and it's walls is full of history from hosting Ronald Reagan and the King of Norway. All of us work in the shipbuilding industry emerging in Korea in the 80's worship this place as where things happened and where decisions were made. The rooms? You can find bigger rooms to a lower price but not with the same outstanding view. Service? Always excellent. Built in the late 70's it have it's challenges, go somewhere else if you love tourist machines. The Irish pub O'Kim's in first floor is an institution. Good knows how many multi million dollar contracts that have been signed there. I hope they never tear it down and hope O'Kims will stay unchanged for years (at least until I retire). A true home away from home (at least for us walking down the memory lane). Not fancy, not new. Yet stylish, great, classy as a hotel from the 70's could be.

Nice hotel by haeundae, literally one step away from the beach and sand.
Great cakes in the lobby bakery shop.
Thank you for the concierge team in providing excellent service to us. There was a gentleman who work in concierge desk/ bell service helping us all the way sincerely and politely. Leaving us a great impression of the hotel. He assisted us with our luggages from when we enter to the hotel, and into our room. When we have question about the transportation, he is always sincere to help. Proactivly assisting us when we depart as well. All little things add up to be the most remarkable experience we had had in any hotels I stayed before. He is not only doing the job, but he is delivering the greatest and most sincere serving spirit.
I am sorry I couldn't recall his name ( I did try to remember his name, but unfortunately don't have the time to write the review when memory is still on). I am looking forward to visit this hotel again to thank him for the great service he provided to us. He is the best hotel staff we have ever met in all the cities we travelled. A big thank you.

Check in was a breeze and was informed that they upgraded us to a bigger room which was really nice of them.
Unfortunately the room was a disappointment. It was really old and look as if it needed a makeover badly. There are no USB charging points so remember to bring your own multi adapter.
The only saving grace was the beautiful view of the beach from the room and the nice seafood restaurants located at the other end of Haeundae Beach. Which is within walking distance.

Although expensive, we had a wonderful time at the Westin Chosun. Our room, 717, had a beach view and the view of the sunrise was incredible. Included in the executive package was a very nice breakfast, a mid-morning snack and drinks and snacks in the afternoon. The spa was also very nice, although instructions in English for those not familiar with Korean customs of dressing, undressing, when to where shoes, or other clothing would have been greatly appreciated. I enjoyed the walkway in the morning, although due to come kind of construction i was only able to walk for about 1/4 of a mile - that was a bit disappointing.

Room Tip: Definitely want to get a beach view, if you are going to spend the money to stay here.

The hotel is located at the Haeundae Beach. Recomended is the beach view room. Checkin was without problems and stuff was very friendly and helpfull. A bit disappointing is the 16k Won for a espresso at the lounge bar. But taste was good and the waitress was friendly too. Room was found in clean condition. Air con was working well, beach view, king size bed, big TFT and a lot more. Bad room was well maintained but kind of small. Hotel location invites for walks either at the beach or to the light house. The breakfast is the most terrible offer I have seen so far (taking the price as basis) and even 3 stars hotel have sometimes a much better choise. May be food and beverage management need some fresh wind. Price performance value is not so good.
