The trail around this island is very clearly and well marked and throughout the trail there will be 'resident' tortoise all over doing their own things.
This island is really a must do in Seychelles.
The sand banks are beautiful to swim and laze around in.
The barbecue at the island's only restaurant is fantastic.
The trail is comfortable and has some breathtaking views.
And, the tortoises are cute, free and abundant.

Note - there's a USD 12 entry fee per person

We spent only 45 minutes on the island, enough time to walk from the landing area to the end of the path past the church and pirate graves. The Aldabra tortoises are huge and very friendly. The kids were fascinated by them and very interested in the little church and grave yard.

We did the glass bottom boat adventure and ended up going to Moyenne Island and was greeted by heaps of tortises at the top of the steps my son was given a baby one by the owner to hold

Moyenne Island was on my list of things to do in the Seychelles. And I was not disappointed. It was a stop on a days excursion. Was not crowded at all. Did the entire island hike, with the help of a stick I found and it was great to see the tortoises roaming free. I really think they were happy to see me and have there necks stroked! Would love to have met Brendon. Must have been an interesting character. What a humbling experience...

I visited Moyenne as part of a snorkeling trip to Sainte Anne Marine National Park. We went ashore and hiked around the island. The hiking tail has wonderful beach and island views. We saw incredible flora and fauna, including giant tortoises wandering freely everywhere. The history of owners is fascinating!
