Owner description: Telaga waja river is located on the slopes of Majesty of Mount Agung, The highest and holiest volcano in Bali. Telaga Waja River Rafting start point is located at Br. Batusesa, Desa Rendang - karangasem, about 14.5 km from agung crater, About 60 km from Bali Ngurah Rai International Airport about 2 hours drive. This amazing activity 16 kms long and take 2, 5 hours durations with 3- 4 class rapid. Telaga waja river is shallow and rocky that means this river is much safer than people thought. This river is really safe for beginner, non swimmer or children, very easy access to reach river at start point. Guide will give you detail safety instructions or briefing before off on magical adventure. Some obstacles on the water where you get to limbo under. Halfway through journey will stop for a break at gorgeous waterfall, 4 metres drop at Bajing dam is great fun before ending of 16 km journey around 2,5 hours ride. After the ride and get out from raft, no stairs up to the restaurant.

It was nice to see clean water in Bali, however the excitement level will definitely leave you feeling underwhelmed as will the amount of time on the water.
The river is only as wide as the raft and if one raft gets stuck then all the rafts will back up on top of each other leaving you to have to sit and wait for a good period of time before restarting.
There are only a few steps to exit the river so that’s a plus and it did only cost $30 Australian each - we thought we had gotten a bargain but really that was its value.
A 1.5 - 2.5 hour journey each way depending on traffic which in some respects held a bit of interest in seeing a few of the local areas

4 of us, parents + teenagers, we had a great day, it was great fun! staff is friendly, equipment seems in good condition. The trip on the river is a bit shorter than it used to be as a consequence of Mount Agung's eruption a couple of months ago and the water is no as clear as it should be, but still a great thing to do in Bali! And a good lunch at the end of the trip is a bonus!

Great day out for friends or family. Good value for money. Had pick up and drop off to our hotel, and lunch included. While I saw some reviews where people weren't that happy with the food, we disagreed. While not a huge selection, it still tasted nice. Very friendly guide. The rapids themselves were fairly tame (We had to use a different river as the main one was closed due to the volcano) it was still a fun day out, surrounded by beautiful scenery. Would recommend taking a go pro if you have one as photos are of course an additional charge. Wearing just swimmers is fine if you don't want to get your clothes wet. You have a locker at the place to leave your stuff, and there are showers and towels there when you get back. Anyone not a fan of walking should know there was a good 10mins of walking up and down stairs from the companies base to the river and back.
