I booked a room here after impulsively leaving Seminyak that afternoon on my own and arrived in Ubud around 6:30pm; I met the owner immediately who was incredibly polite and accommodating. I was shown 3 rooms that were available; a room with no A/C, a double room with AC And a third room with A/C and a balcony. I took the balcony room as it was around the same price.

Everything was clean, tidy and comfortable. The fridge was an added bonus for my bottled water. The water pressure was great and the hot water was good!

A lovely family and a lovely little hideaway tucked down the side street. Not a noise was heard accept for a neighboring water feature which was relaxing! I will return Ubud Dream!

I stayed at Ubud Dreams with my elderly father and brother in 2012. The hosts were warm and friendly and the rooms were big. And the breakfast is yummy. The location cannot be improved with everything - from restaurants, shops, utility shops within walking distance.

The only thing you need to note is that the voltage in Ubud fluctuates and so if you get the room without the AC, the night can be very sultry. The stairs leading to the rooms upstairs is not super user friendly but that can be a problem only if u have people with knee problems.

Room Tip: Choose the room with an AC

The best place you can get for that price, very nice location, very nice and delicious breakfast which is often a problem in Indonesia.no need to say more things, just book it if it suits your budget. Close to monkey forest , dining places, bike rentals, rice fields and whatever you need.there is also a very close market and some exchange offices.

We stayed in the aircon room that had a spare bed. As homestays go this place is definitely on the pricier end (double other Ubud homestays). However, it is modern and tidy (newly renoed?) so you definitely pay a premium for A/C and reliable hot showers . If you don't care about having A/C and therefore probably don't need hot water, shop around as there are lovely & well located homestays in Ubud for less than half the rate of Ubud Dream. One can even find some A/C homestays for 65% of the cost but we booked last minute and didn't get a chance to really look through all options.

That being said, really good shower pressure in the spacious bathroom. A staff member turns down the room daily. It is in a perfect location. Room could be that much more functional by adding some hooks on the wall to hang things and maybe a full length mirror; there would certainly have been enough wall space in the large rooms.

We had a bit of a bug problem but learned that tiny critters in rooms seem to be common in Ubud. Our headboard had quite a few ants and these other small bugs crawling around between the frame and the mattress. We lifted the mattress to wipe down and spray the edges with a natural bug spray but then found a roach carcass underneath the bed. It happens. We did spend the first night in our sleepsheets but cleaning out the bedframe seems to help the second and third night. Our sheets had a few stains on them (lotion?) and old blood drop stains (from mosquitoes munching on guests?) The sheets were changed after the second night. It is off the main street down a side path so not a noisy location. Fridge in room was a bonus. Owners did not try to upsale us on tours and excursions which was refreshing.

Breakfast was good and I thought it added value to the price. We asked the husband for an earlier breakfast our 2nd morning as we had early morning tours but he said it would not at all be possible. I wish they had been a bit more accommodating about that as breakfast is built into the rate.

I'm being a bit more critical as this homestay was priced much higher than their peers so I expected more (at least a super clean bed without the bugs). For the accommodation they offer, if they priced about 20% less it would have been fair value and I'd have no complaints. If compared to hotels, this is an ok alternative.

Room Tip: There is a non-A/C room at a lower rate but if it is particularly humid out it might be hard to cope with the heat at night. Eat outside on the terrace - don't bring food in your room to tempt the bugs

We stayed five nights at Ubud Dream. More of a homestay than anything else, it consists of three rooms in a converted house down one of Ubud's many alleyways off Monkey Forest Road. The home is sturdy and stylish, as is most everything in Ubud.

Titik and her husband run a pleasant, efficient operation, including arranging transport and tours, which is a second job for most people in Bali, since there is no functioning public bus system and getting anywhere is an expensive nightmare.

Unfortunately, her arrangements are no better than anybody else's. She offers airport pickup, which we used, but at a cost of 250,000 Rp, the same price as our room.

The rooms are upstairs. All are ensuite, two have aircon, one has a porch and the others access a common balcony where, overlooking Ubud's luxuriant greenery and accompanied by melodious birdsong, you get a nice breakfast every morning.

Ours was the un-air conditioned room and, for the price, was a fair value, but because the ceilings are quite high, it took the room fan AND a floor fan to make it anything close to comfortable. The high ceilings also made the dim bathroom light superfluous.

Unfortunately, the air conditioned rooms are significantly more expensive. Ubud Dream would be better off if it air conditioned the third room and evened out the prices.

One thing the rooms do have in common is lousy WiFi. You will spend a lot of time down in the lobby and out on the balcony trying to connect.

Ubud is full of mediocre food at high prices, but Ubud Dream is nearly right across the street from the antidote: Bendi. The food at this little upstairs eatery is no better, but the prices are what they should be, and the people watching from the balcony is great.
