I'd booked a Superior Double room, and found myself in Room 104, just metres from the pool.

The reception area was impressive with traditional architecture, soaring ceiling and lots of timber.

The room was tired, everything looked and felt old. The door didn't seal well, so cold air rushed out and I could feel it sitting outside with the door closed. That would be costing a bundle in electricity!! The bathroom was very average, with leaky plumbing and a drainage problem.

The pool, and general area, looked god but I didn't use other than to enjoy a cold beer outside my room, overlooking the pool.

The restaurant is right on the 'beach', and a very nice area. Breakfast was good and plentiful, although not a buffet.

Calling the area out front a beach is something of a misnomer. When the tide is out, there is about 200 metres of mud before reaching the water, and walking on it would be unpleasant, at best. Swimming when the tide is in wouldn't be too pleasant either, with a muddy bottom. This is not strictly the hotel's fault, but they did build there, so it's part of the overall picture. Hotels further east have much better beach fronts.

The bed was comfortable, plenty of pillows and top cover.

WiFi was terrible, dropped out more than in, but it may have been better in other parts of the hotel.

The TV did have a few English channels.

I can barely recommend this hotel. It badly needs renovating, certainly the parts I saw did, but there may be better areas. It probably rates 2.5, between poor and average, but there is no 2.5!!

The hotel is right on the beach and you can watch beautiful sunsets from there but rooms are in dire need of renovations. The light in the room is very poor, toilet blocks easily and very old TV in the room. What bothered me is that there were two separate families who caused excessive noise. One family used to slam the door so hard that we could hear it from a couple of rooms away and wake us up. Nobody stopped them and on another occasion some guests were making lots of noise in the middle of the night near the pool. The doors were too thin to block out the noise. We had to go out and tell them to shut up and be considerate of other guests. Not blaming the hotel for noisy guests but it was their responsibility to stop them making noise in the middle of night - nobody seemed to care. Rooms were clean and staff at the restaurant are very friendly.

The Adirama Beach Hotel is an excellent hotel if you like a beachy, earthy, and relaxed vibe. The room interiors and so-so amenities, may be a little rough around the edges for some, and the beach is not the sort of beach one thinks of when one thinks of Bali - but I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and would certainly return here if visiting the Singaraja/Lovina area again.

So many nice things about this place - beautiful pool area - meticulously maintained grounds - friendly staff - lovely beachfront restaurant (average food, but the view itself wows) - cool bamboo bedroom furniture - great chairs on the balcony for lounging around - small spa with excellent traditional massage - soothing open-air lobby - shuttle available to Lovina town center - and the only hotel in the area currently offering evening excursions to see dolphins (most excursions take place at dawn and the viewing area is crowded - opted for the evening and we were the only boat out - saw lots of dolphins too!) -

Highly Recommended!

Dirty bathroom. Toilet seat loose and basin would not drain. Needing a full renovation. Food was not very nice small portions and very oily. Booked for 4 nights but bailed out after 2 to go elsewhere and had to pay exit fee which we negotiated. Best thing was nice pool and cold fridge. I would not recommend.

It was a delight to return, if only for a short visit, to Adirama Beach Hotel. The Staff and atmosphere are very pleasant with the utmost in professionalism. You will be treated like family. There are numerous "Adventures" available to guests including the relatively new Coral Restoration Project right off the beach of the hotel for Snorkelers & Scuba enthusiasts.
