It's a really nice cafe with a beautiful view and good food. Though I wasn't really fond of the chicken burger but the spaghetti was really good.

Try the pasta and authentic chai. The place overlooks the himlayan ranges and best time for lunch, dinner or breakfast.
Good food , try the potato wedges and falafel platter. They have a good collection of books to keep you amused. Comfortable sitting .
Its a nice cozy place to hang out with family/ friends in a chilling weather. They've got some amazing pan cakes and waffles, however, they need to add some more syrups in their menu apart from just maple syrup.
However, apart from the good food and ambiance there is one thing they realllyyy need to learn is to greet people well. I had an arguement with them for not letting someone who's not eating in the cafe to use the washroom.
I would suggest you to go through the law for this so that you know it is not allowed to not let people not use your washroom esp. a female (which was not as clean as they thought it was).
This attitude is part of the hospitality that you learn by doing a business like that.
Thank you for your detailed feedback and for sharing your concern. I am happy that you enjoyed the food and cafe ambience.
I remember having a conversation with you regarding this. Firstly, like I mentioned earlier, char dukan is a tourist spot with hundreds of tourists visiting the place each day. The cantonment board has made a public washroom specially for them because of the huge footfall in the area. The washroom is right next to our cafe, so our moral duty is to direct the visitors to the public washroom.
Secondly sir, we are at a place where access to water is very limited. We have to face challenges on a daily basis to run our business with minimal supply of water. No other cafe has a washroom in this area just because water supply is limited. So,isn't it logical on my part to ask tourists who are just looking for a washroom to use the public washroom which is just 5 steps ahead of the cafe. Previously we have shut our business because of the heavy use of washroom by mid-day, due to which we have to take such steps. We don't find any pleasure in sending people to the public washroom but please try to understand our circumstances.
Thirdly, the entire cafe ivy team is very warm and welcoming to all the guests. Also, we make sure the staff is polite and warm to everyone even if they are not eating at the cafe.
We were bursting with excitement to discover Landour - the town of Deodars. And the moment we discovered Cafe Ivy, that excitement knew no bounds.
Cafe Ivy offers stunning views, no matter what season (I think the one during snowfall is my favorite though). It has been built with exceptional taste (rustic and cozy) and its interiors complement the landscape that Landour has to offer. The place makes you feel at home instantly. Rarely does that happen, right?!
Moreover, whether it be the pizza, pasta, sandwiches or the salads, everything is cooked to perfection and with a pledge to remain authentic. I've never left this place dissatisfied.
And of course, the proprietors - Mohit, Ashish and Zico - are so humble and genuinely interested in making sure you have a wonderful and unforgettable experience that the cafe is always welcoming, whatever be the time or day. The commitment of these guys and the staff is commendable.
If you do happen to be in Dehradun or Mussoorie, just open the door to this place and it's most likely that you'll want to stay :)
