It is in this place we have the bests views of Taj Mahal from Agra Fort, one of the few places now in Agra Fort where we can go to na upper level, everywhere else is closed, maybe for restoration or who knows why.

It is situated inside the Agra Fort. It is said that from the windows/jharokhas of this burj, Shah Jahan used to look at Taj Mahal and remembered his late wife. Visit this place with a guide to hear more stories regarding this place. Unfortunately, this place is closed for public now as public has damaged some of the embedded stones and carvings of this place (as told to us by the guide).

Shah Burj, also known as Musamman Burj is a delicate citadel located near DIwan-e-Khas in Agra Fort. One must visit the Shah Burj and experience the magical view of the Taj from there. Also, pay close attention to the jharokhas and marble pillars that display some of the most beautiful inlay work of the Mughal era.

Shah Burj or Mussummen Burj or Jasmine Tower , all take you to the heart of the agra Fort , a very elegent white marble structure with lot of beutiful inlay work of semi precious stones is basically a room, a balcony, a water fountain and a small courtyard.
It is believed to be the bed room specially constructed for the royal queen of the emperor but it is not remembered as a Bed Room of the Royal Lady instead this is a place where Emperor Shah Jahan was house arrested by his own son Emperor Aurangzeb for the last eight years of his life before his death at the age of 74 years.
Local People say that Emperor ShahJahan loved his wife Begum Mumtaz Mahal so much that on a full moon night the reflection of precious & semiprecious stones studded Taj Mahal in the dark & subtle water of the river Yamuna, fascinated him to remember his wife & the promise made to her.
Two of extremes : extreme love & extreme greed for power .
