A delightful small location with a maximum of 12 tents and 24 guests. The tents all come with en-suite bathrooms and on the first night we even had an outside hot tub. As its a small site the service is personal, friendly and to a high quality. There is a campfire at night where all the guests sit around and can have a drink and chat about their days safari - although we thought this would be a bit twee - in fact it was fabulous and the friendships we made on those nights helped to make the stay even more memorable.

This facility is cozy, with only a dozen tents. The tents are spacious and then bathrooms are very good. However, there is essentially no storage in each tent, so we had to live out of our suitcases for three days. One corner of the tent is occupied by a large, full length mirror. That space might be better utilized to provide furniture for storage of clothes. Also the lighting was fairly dim throughout, even in the bath area. This is a Relais & Chateau property. The breakfasts and lunches were very good; diner, not so much. Service was generally very good. Because there is a village very close to the camp, noise from a wedding celebration was a problem for two of our three nights.

We have not stayed in tents since we were children but this is a far cry from camping that we recall. Nevertheless, despite all of the fine things around you are staying under canvass which is not insulated and can get cold at night (there are electric heaters in the tent and hot water bottles so it was always cosy) and of course there is no sound insulation so you can hear anything around (and we wondered what animals we were hearing at times). This is part of the pleasure of going here but no doubt it would not suit everyone. The place just seemed very friendly and well run. We only had two nights and three game drives with the cold early morning starts (bring warm clothes if you’re staying in January and going into the park) and we loved our safaris. Despite the luxury there was also a simplicity here which we liked. I think if you are prepared for the advantages and disadvantages of tents, and are prepared to well looked after but not fussed over, then this is a good place to stay; we certainly loved it here.

Greeted with fizz on arrival, cold towels and refreshing drinks after drives, air conditioned luxury tent with showers and toilet. Most surprising was the warning that a Tigeress occasional comes into camp, but don’t worry cameras and security keep you safe and a butler buzzer in your tent can be rang to be escorted if worried. We enjoyed the spa tent, the lounge area ( fully equipped) and no tv thank goodness.
Food was a mixture of outside tables and campfire eating, but tallies served both nights. We stayed two nights and had two 6 hour drives. We thought we were lucky seeing two Tigers lying down on day one, but as we paid for no zone restrictions and this meant we could go to places that larger groups couldn’t. We saw a leopard on a ledge and then we had a Tigeress walking on the road for 30 minutes on day two.
We left at 2pm and they very kindly us a free lunch. I had a walk round their vegetable garden before we left. The pool is not heated but is very pleasant once in after a hot day driving.
Drinks are expensive but to be expected at this lovely place.

As we left a family arrived with a baby. We were relived not to have shared this tranquil place with a screaming child. I would ask the family that owns the place to not allow children into the camp. What could they possibly get out of it??

Room tip: Room 9 is on the end we were very happy.
