The guiding at Sher Bagh was second to none - they have their own jeeps, with a driver and guide, who are experts at listening to the forest and looking for clues to find tigers and other animals. On our trip, we saw 5 tigers, a tiger kill and a leopard - absolutely amazing. The camp itself is very luxurious, food is brilliant and the staff are great too.

This is a really special place. We had three amazing nights at this wonderful place. We were lucky enough to see 6 tigers during our 4 safaris. On our final day we say a mother with 3 cubs - just brilliant. The management and staff at Sher Bagh are wonderful. We have been on safaris before, but this was just the best. The tents are wonderfully appointed - very tasteful. A lot of thought has gone into the design of this place. We appreciated all the little things like hot water bottles and our morning tea and biscuits before setting off on a drive. We were thoroughly spoilt with a private dinner by the pool on our last night - very romantic. We also enjoyed a trip to Ranthambhore Fort with the same guide who took us on safari. He was very knowledgeable and we would definitely recommend visiting the fort as well as going out on game drives. This was one of the most special places we have visited.

Room Tip: All the tents are the same, but there are a couple of suites too.

All you have to do is read review after review to realize that this is a special place. And we can verify that it truly is. Sujan does an amazing job with their properties. On our 2-month trip we stayed both at Sher Bagh and another Susan property, Jawai Leopard Camp (see separate review). Its hard to imagine staying in a hotel instead of Sher Bagh while you're visiting Ranthambore. The tents are over the top. Our suite tent had a separate front room and a hot tub and outdoor shower out back. It was on the very end, so totally private, as well. So much thought has gone into everything here, the decor, common areas, food, service. Its all those seemingly small details that add up to an exceptional experience. We do have one very important piece of advice, however. The travel company that booked our trip arranged our game drives through another company. Big mistake. Be absolutely sure you book your game drives directly with Sher Bagh. When we exchanged experiences with other guests in the evening we realized what we had missed. With other companies you can spend the first hour or more driving around picking up people form other hotels in the area (and then dropping them off after the game drive) -- which is what happened to us. In addition, our guide provided very minimal information. Guests at Sher Bagh that went on their game drives raved about their experiences and saw much more than we did. Even with our mistake, we had a really marvelous time.

Room Tip: We had a suite tent which afforded extra privacy and had a hot tub and outdoor shower in back, but all the tents are great.

My husband and I made a last minute decision to visit Sher Bagh when we were driven from Delhi by air quality issues. We arrived at this edenic setting to be greeted by drinks and shown to the Pukka Suite, our home during our stay. It was equipped with a full sized hot tub and a screened front porch where our butler knocked and left coffee each morning. Inside the spacious tent was a comfortable canopied bed that was outfitted with a hot water bottle and a small wrapped present every night before bedtime. Every detail in the room and bathroom is beautiful and comfortable.
In the morning after porridge with whiskey, we set off on jeep safari with Sher Bagh's driver and naturalist, who were kind and informative. If we were chilly, there were lap robes, and at midmorning we would stop for biscuits and hot tea. Lovely. The park is just beautiful with some areas being very different than others. Upon return, you have wonderful cooked breakfast in the dining tent and then after a bit you get to do it all over again in the afternoon! Overall we saw tigers on three occasions!!! It was all enthralling.
Staff are friendly, helpful, the epitome of hospitality. Public areas are beautifully set and comfortable. Dinners take place outdoors in multiple settings.
We struck up an early conversation with a family member of the owners, who was inclined to politics. We were the only Americans and being political ourselves, we were soon trading opinions on the upcoming US election.
As results were coming in the day after Nov 6 (a result of time difference) we were kindly led to a private TV with CNN in this place with no TV.As the outcome became apparent, knowing we would be distraught, the staff plied us with food, drink, whatever we wanted. They could not have been kinder.
This was a perfectly wonderful stay at a truly unique and special place.

We have been lucky enough to have stayed in a tented safari hotel in Tanzania and thought that was something special but Sher Bag took attention to detail to a whole new level.

Our tent was a really good size, styled and finished to a high standard with a comfortable double bed, air conditioning, separate bathroom with a walk in shower and fully flushing WC.

Each morning we would be woken with a cup of tea and then before leaving for safari the manager would meet us with hot porridge topped with honey and whisky. On return breakfast is taken in the dining room and all the usual options are available and cooked freshly for you.

The manager and staff could not be more helpful and their attention to detail was fantastic. An example of this is that one of our party had a big birthday while we were there and they set up a private dinner for us in the grounds and our route to the table and the area around the table was lit by hundreds of lamps making the whole evening fell like something out of a fairy tale. Another example is I wanted to try and send some photos home and the assistant manager lent us his personal PC as I only had my iPad with me.

The hotel has a small pool with some sun loungers though while we were there most guest seem to stay close to their own tents which also had loungers.

We have nothing but praise for all the staff and the quality of Sher Bagh. It is also well placed a short distance from the national park and all in all we have no hesitation in recommending it to you.
