For a small property of 8 rooms, we found the Hotels common areas finished in excellent furnishings and details. The room was quite spacious and comfortable. The Manager and staff gave us excellent care and advice for our stay. The Sonaar is located outside the Fort which was better for us as we found the Fort a 'bit' touristy.

Amazing, comfortable, luxurious, efficient staff, great facilities and location. There is nothing that you can fault about truly beautiful Sonar Haveli. Boutique hotel offering unimaginable experience that you can even dream of. I cannot recommend this place enough, this is a must, must visit. Some places are home away from home but Sonar Haveli is heaven away from home that you will definitely would not want to leave. Hats off to each and every member of staff and the Manager who is running this place and offering truly niche and godly experience to its customers. Atithi Devo Bhav concept can be experienced here, so do visit.

Located away from the fort, finding a property from the usual numerous properties located inside the living fort - Sonnar is a welcome change.

The interiors are much luxurious compared to a very usual outside looks. With very less number of rooms, Sonnar is trying to establish like a boutique set up but needs to do some work before it reaches that category. The room size is typical - can get cramped if going for extra bed. Breakfast is average. Roof top restaurant wasn't operational. No other activity - given very small size of the property which could be very atypical of most properties in that area.

With no parking space, you end up literally parking on the road and the scratches on my car still reminds me of my one night stay at Sonnar!

Overall, give the price you pay (around 6k per night), I would suggest looking for alternatives unless location is the utmost priority.

Room Tip: All rooms on one floor

Dear Sir

Thank you for your detailed review about your experience at Sonaar Haveli. We were somewhat surprised to have a negative review since you had written in our guest book that you were very happy with your stay and that you found the property beautiful. However, I am sorry to hear, that you were not duly satisfied with your stay. We pride ourselves, in constantly, aiming to provide a high level of service and endeavour to ensure that every guest leaves the property with full satisfaction.

As you correctly mention we are a small eight bedroom property with reasonably large rooms. We have had several bookings on a triple sharing basis and no one so far, has been dissatisfied with the room size. We were also not made aware of this at the time of your stay or would have found a way to rectify it. Nevertheless, we have taken your point on board.

Breakfast is served, on an A’la carte basis with a varied selection of Continental, South Indian and North Indian cuisine. We have well trained chefs and our food is our specialty. I can only apologise that, it was not to your liking. Our rooftop restaurant is always operational, however, it can get very hot during the daytime for us to recommend people to eat there.

We have parking spaces just outside the hotel entrance. Being New Years Day, we were sold out and are regretful you were unable to find a suitable parking. Our guards always monitor the guests cars, 24/7 and it is unfortunate that your car was scratched during your stay.

Our rates are very competitive and we sincerely apologise, for the dissatisfaction caused and would like to offer you a free stay, for 2 nights, at anytime in the future at our property. We do hope you will return to Sonaar Haveli to provide us with the opportunity to serve you again.

Unmatched story of Sonnar Haveli.. we stayed here only for 1 night, that's the saddest part of it.
Truly amazing place, small but attractive entrance, classy lobby, well designed dining area / restaurants at ground floor, comfortable room with all standard & well equipped amenities, sunset with fort landscape view from room which was ultimate, top floor dinning area for dinner with beautiful light arrangements.
We would loved to visit Jaisalmer once again for Sonnar Haveli.. :-)

When we walked in, the place seemed unassuming and located in a rather odd place. However, my expectations were greatly exceeded. Fabulous hospitality and food, special mention to Mr Heer Singh, who went out of his way to make us feel at home.
The food was some of the best we had and in my opinion better than the food we had in the Umaid Bhavan Palace.
The rooms which seemed a little small initially, were very comfortable and the staff went to great lengths to make our stay perfect. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Jaisalmar.
