Must see! This small individually assembled museum was the highlight of my visit to Jaisalmer. I learned so much about traditional desert culture and it enlightened many of the people and things I saw the next day.

I feel extremely passionate that cultures ought to be preserved and was happy to put my money towards a man and museum doing just that.

I always prefer for low budget tourism. There is no meaning to spend so much where it can be managed in such a less amount of money. It is in 5 mins walking distance from airforce circle.

It charges 100 for the show. As per them Rs. 50 is for Museum and 50 for the show. There is nothing special to see the museum. But you have to buy a ticket of Rs. 100. No meaning to buy tickets for photography. Enjoy the show only. there is only 2 shows in a day from 6.30 to 7.30 pm and another one from 7.30 to 8.30pm. But always go for the 1st show, because sometimes they cancel the 2nd show if there is less number of audience.

Good cultural show. with puppets. with rajasthani culture. But if anyone already visited bagore ki haveli show at udaipur, can skip this one.

Attended the puppet show with the kids, which was truly entertaining even for adults accompanied by fabulous musicians and puppet master. The crew involved the kids in the play and presented all story introductions in English.

However before the show we were provided with a highly educational tour by Mr NK Sharma, founder of the museum, author of various guide books about Jaisalmer, who despite his age has kept an astounding mental agility. His son continued the tour by outlining various local traditions, customs, etc. In an equivalent charming way.

Every tourist visiting the city, should as part of a cultural understanding visit the museum, ensuring it's continued success and sustainability given the vast collection.

This may not match continental fancy standards in regards to museum display, design, though the family's effort in preserving heritage should be paid tribute.

This museum is opposite to the Gadsisar Lake. It is operated by Prof Sharma and his team. Salute to the efforts put in and the energy of this old man in operating the cultural center. The center conducts 2 puppet shows in the evening. It was quite fun and entertaining to watch the shows. Mr Sharma himself hosts and sing in the entire 45 min show, gives information about Jaisalmer and Maru Pradesh. After the show visited the small museum around the show hall. They are making a lot of efforts to keep the puppet show art alive and I feel we all should support them in whatever way possible. (The easiest way by visiting the museum and attending the show). They have a sovenir shop in the premises where you can buy local items at a price lower then the market outside.

Visited this place based on recommendation from a friend. Saw the puppet show and was incredibly impressed and the museum was very well maintained. Highly recommended for a great cultural experience.
