We stayed at Himmatgarh for a night. Food was just average and customer service was not very impressive. Although the hotel has a fort like ambience with a good facade, the rooms are small and lacked a few amenities. The garden, however, is very pleasant with a large, clean pool in the heart of it. Overall, the experience was just okay!

Rooms and beds are very small specifically when you are travelling with two kids. Fixtures are not of good quality. Service is very poor. All of the staff including owner/manager have a constant frown on their face. Location is good with a good sun set view and also overlooks the fort but it's situated in an isolated place with no restaurant or markets nearby. Food quality not good. Worst spring rolls that I ever had.

Had made reservations to stay in this hotel for 2 days but it was so bad that v left after just one day...food was horrible...bland at one time and too spicy the next. Rooms had a bed which was too small and could fit only one person though they said it was for 2 people. We could only get hot water from 6-9 in the morning. We requested for a heater which they did give us but it was some beaten up version from 10 years ago which short circuited and we didn't have electricity after that for half a day. Overall a rlli bad experience and a sad excuse for a hotel. I do not recommend it to anyone as while leaving jaisalmer we saw there were far better and more value for money hotels there

We recently visited Jaisalmer after close to 11 years so we were really excited to be catching up on old memories. We chose Himmatgarh since the location appeared to be close enough from the Fort yet away from the hustle and bustle of the town. We were not disappointed on this account and since we had pre-booked a room, we had a smooth check-in process. We got one of the turret-shaped rooms which were quite uniquely structured in a circular shape. Our room faced the swimming pool which was good. The room was however, quite simply unremarkable - there may have been an intent on the part of the owners to give it a certain character but I am not sure it was achieved, what with the lights too dim, lending an almost dreary feel. The food was nothing great as well, and was actually expensive by some standards - tea for 100 bucks, a glass of milk for 60 bucks etc. The entire staff appeared somewhat disengaged - when we asked for dip tea with sugar, milk to be provided separate so that we could make our own tea, they didn't appear too amused and initially refused saying that they don't understand! Perhaps providing a tea maker in the room would have solved the problem. The bathroom fittings also appeared to needing a makeover. What also struck us was that though we were visiting Jaisalmer during Diwali, the staff had made no special arrangements to involve guests in any celebrations. This is inspite of the fact that the hotel was sold out during Diwali. The family that runs the show preferred to stay aloof, and merely watched over guests doing their own thing. The one bright spot in the trip was the overnight stay at the desert which was an experience in itself. Let me wrap up by saying that though the hotel is doing fine, it could become more service oriented and that would make a huge difference.

There can not be a worse hotel staff and management. Literally zero courtesy. As if they are obliging us in a free dharamshala.horrible attitude of kerelian manager. Food was worst. No taste at all.bathrooms worst maintained. Water leaking from taps, drains blocked. I think that the owner who is a retired army colonel runs this like a army camp and not a hotel. Rules for even hot water for bathing !!!!!!!! Shocking!!! Dinner was pathetic !!!!! The daal was totally bland, paneer tasteless!. I would not pay even 1000 rupees for a day! The Kerelite manager is fit only to become a security watchman!! Not a hotel manager. Only that they have a great location, but What A PITY !!!!!!! They don't know how to run a hotel.

Room Tip: Don't even think of going to this place
