You can find umpteen number of options in Sam/ Khuri as an option for desert camping.

We happen to book accommodation in Jaisalmer Desert Camps just before Sam. As Rajasthan boasts of explicit customer service, we were completely happy with the people attending to us and taking care of every small need like milk for the children to tea at 5:30am in the morning.

Don't trust google maps to access this camp (It takes you inside the village to the back side with no entry to the place). They have placed a signage on the main road, but you will still struggle to find the way in to the camp (about 400/500 mt inside). So better call the person to come and guide instead.

Camla Safari was included in our package, but we did desert safari after recommendation from Mr Arjun (staff there). Remember, to bargain as this is an intrinsic part of Indian Tourism!

Unfortunately, they had only 6/7 tents occupied of 22 available on our night of stay, so there was not much fun in the evening folk-dance time.

Whole in Whole, it was a good experience for a night and one can explore some more options too that are closer to the desert.

Nice place to stay, provide enough facilities to stay even in winter. Offers early morning Jeep safari, Breakfast, Night Mujra & dinner as well. Winter is Good time to visit here. November to Feb is good time to visit Jaislmer.
