As we reached Kerala, our local friend picked up for a escorted tour of Trivandram. For lunch we told him we wish to taste the local food and the feel the ambiance of local hospitality. He suggested us to take to a place which he told us, will give us the feel if authenticity.

He took us to Trivandrum Hotel for our first day lunch at Kerala.

A old time heritage hotel, right in the heart of the city. As you approach and enter the hotel you feel the flavor of the Trivandrum Architecture. Very quite though near to busy activities.

They have two separate restaurants for vegetarians and non-vegetarians. We chose the vegetarians one, as our friend is vegetarian.

It has beautiful ambiance, spartan decor but totally traditional and wooden. Immaculately and traditionally dressed ladies served of lunch on banana leaf.

We enjoyed one of the finest ethnic Travancore cuisine both visually and by taste.

Price-wise it is bit higher side considering in is in south India and being vegetarian.

The service is nice and overall experience is great.

Its an economic option. The rooms are clean, spacious and we'll maintained. The service is good. The food is great. I had been polichathu, puttu, kappa, prawns... It was delicious. Authentic Kerala. I happened to be there around Onam. The sadya here is a must try for foodies. The best I ever had.

We booked this hotel as we had stayed before and had a good stay.

This time however it was not as good.

The Hotel no longer accepts international cards, despite the web site saying they accepted Visa which meant we had to find a cash machine to pay, thankfully the staff were decent enough to let us leave our bags int eh room while we sorted this out.

The room was a little bit shabby, and it was quite noisy. phone in the hallway was ringing all night.

Saying that though, the location is good, it's a relatively inexpensive place and the staff were friendly and helpful

When the two12yearolds were scouting for locations to have their long-awaited wedding, Trivandrum Hotel popped up in the list. The parents paid a visit and booked the place rightaway. The Manager, Shajahan, was beyond helpful: he was proactive with suggestions and made our wedding a day to remember. Special thanks to him for recommending the venue decorator as well.

Coordinating the wedding preparations from thousands of miles away, over phone calls, is usually a stressful experience. But this was very different. We can cross our hearts and say this was the most stress-free wedding ever: for ourselves, for our immediate family, friends and invitees. All thanks to Trivandrum Hotel!

The wedding sadya was tasty and a first time experience for many on the invite list, as was the look-and-feel of the typical “Kerala-style” building and indoors. Overall, a fantastic experience that we will remember for a lifetime to come.

One of the oldest. Within easy reach of Sri Padmanabha temple. Located in the city centre. Railway station is about 2 kms away and airport 9 kms. Nice stay with traditional food the hit being ‘ puutu’. Liked it. Though little bit more of hygiene can be maitained
