This Dutch-colonial-style heritage hotel is one of the best hotels in Fort Cochin: We, I and my 5 Italian friends stayed here for 4 nights. Good location, very friendly and helpful staff, clean and well serviced rooms. Location is very convenient for the beach, new and old city , restaurants, shopping areas and sightseeing and just a 2-minute walk from the main bus stand. The rooms are very comfortable and very well decorated, nice and clean, the personnel is very pleasant. The food served in the restaurant (Kerala, continental and Indo-Portuguese) is delicious, with an emphasis on seafood. The staff especially the hotel manager is very keen to attend your needs and he even arranged for us an Ayurvedic treatment. Overall is the better that you can get in Fort Cochin.

I felt very comfortable at Ballard Bungalow. The Staff is very kind. The high rooms are equipped with antique tasteful furnishings. In the high canopy bed with good mattress I slept like heaven. I will stay here again when I return to Cochin in a few months.

Wonderful colonial architecture at an affordable price. This place has a perfect location, opposite the wildly more expensive Brunton Boatyard, and close to the Chinese fishing nets. Despite the name this is not a bungalow. The building is grand and spacious with high ceilings, teak floors and a refined ‘manor house’ atmosphere. I don’t usually write reviews but the charm of this hotel really stood out compared to other places on our 3-week holiday. The rooms are massive with en-suite bathrooms, a/c and free wifi. Our room had a private balcony overlooking mango trees in the courtyard. The enormous bed was a beautiful antique four-poster with a comfortable modern mattress, quality bed linen and big fluffy towels. We stayed 3 nights and were very well looked after by the welcoming and friendly staff who went the extra mile to make sure we had all we needed. I would certainly stay again and happily recommend.

Amazing location in surroundings that take you back in time . 5 minutes walk to see the fishermen's nets ,ferry crossing across to city, numerous restaurants all good quality fresh fish . Ballard really blew us away in our room we had a large 4 poster bed which you needed to us a small step to get onto it was just amazing. The laundry facility was amazing, dirty stained linen trousers came back as new. Staff so lovely helpful .We had travelled around for a few weeks and this experience would be great for anyone wanting to really see another side .Very clean , comfortable and providing another amazing India experience ?

Room Tip: Rooms over courtyard probably quieter, but this is India so roll with it and you'll sleep after a fabulous filled day

We arrived early and they let us check in no problem, the place is really clean and quiet, the rooms are huge! It's an old heritage building right in the centre of the main tourist strip, it's close to all of the main attractions, but when you're inside it feels like you e stepped into the past. This place is ideal for couples, backpackers and families alike, they have a pleasant outside and inside area for socialising, plus you can use the pool of the adjacent hotel. They also have a kitchen for communal use or if you want breakfast they can provide. All of the rooms have ac, TV and hot showers, and are wifi ready. The owner is also a really nice guy, really accommodating and friendly, and they just kitted the place out with new fancy bedding which gives the place a five star feel.
