The Tea Bungalow is a small hotel in a property built for tea merchants originally and forms part of Fort Cochin's trading history. Nice pool, average breakfasts. Did not dine there as no alcohol allowed in public dining area. Rooms in the main building are larger than those outside and ours was only 2 meters from a busy road. Avoid this one

Room Tip: check location and size of room. some are quite small and ours was extremely noisy from traffic

A well located small hotel with a relaxed atmosphere providing peace from the hussle and bussle of Cochin.
Staff very pleasent and happy to help at all times. The pool area is smll and a bit cramped but ok for a quick dip and relaxation.
The restaurant is set in the hotel lobby and a bit impersonal. Food was adequate but nothing special i'm sorry to say. It doesn't serve alcohol but you can buy it locally and drink in your room if you must.
We stayed in the Mombasa room which was small but comfortable and had a tiny outdoor garden in the bathroom. The bedroom had small patio doors that opened onto a postage stamp walled 'garden' but made the room seem much nicer when the doors were open. Mind the mosquitos though!
Breakfast was a set menu served at your table with a choice of egg styles or indian dish of the day.
Good location for exploring the town.

Very glad we chose this hotel. It was set back from the road and was peaceful and quiet. It was a 10 minutes stroll to the sea front or 30 rupees in a tuk tuk. Having seen some of the other hotels close to the front with traffic and street vendors outside I was pleased with the Tea Bungalow.
We were able to have breakfast and our evening meal outside which I enjoy. The breakfasts were from a menu (not buffet) so all freshly prepared. The one evening meal that we had we enjoyed. The service was good from all staff and our waiters spoke good English.
Our room was huge as was the bathroom and all spotlessly clean, we even had our own little garden with chairs, table and umbrella.

Room Tip: We were on the ground floor by reception but never heard any noise at all

Very nice and luxious heritage hotel. Very big room and bathroom completly reniewed and nicely decorated) close to everything in cochin.
Very nice and helpfull staff (we had to do an urgent phone call in Europe and they did’nt charge it)
Small swiming pool but pleasant with beautiful trees and flowers
A few tables outside for breakfast and dinner but if you want to eat in a fresh environment it is not very pleasant at the reception
Also the food is expensive as always in hotels
Our room was at the first floor above the reception (103) and it was quite noisy during the night ( machinery from the hotel?)
Nevertheless we recommand this hotel strongly
