We loved our stay at the Tea Bungalow, which was our first hotel in India. The rooms are spacious and cool, providing an excellent escape from the heat of Kochi. It is within walking distance of historic Fort Cochin, and we even walked to Mattancherry from there (though we'd recommend a taxi or tuk-tuk after spending most of the morning walking!). Breakfast by the pool every morning was luxurious. It included tea or coffee, eggs, and fresh fruit. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. They always had cold water for us (we found out at checkout that we were being charged for these waters, which is only fair).

The room was cleaned every day. The bed was large and relatively comfortable. The bathroom was very spacious. With both air conditioning and a fan, we had complete control over the room's temperature. And because the bungalow is relatively spread out, it is a very quiet, secluded experience.

We highly recommend the Tea Bungalow for a stay in Fort Cochin!

This was our first hotel on arriving in Kerala after a long flight. Stayed for two nights in a very comfortable room, especially the bed and huge bathroom, I loved the outside element. Great location for exploring Fort Kochi, a very interesting place to visit. Breakfast good but evening meal far from exciting, however plenty of places to eat nearby.
Particular mention has to be given to the reception team. We asked for them to arrange a taxi to take us to Alleppey. They informed us that there was a general strike the day we were due to travel and there may be security concerns. They liaised with the driver and arranged for an early pick up so we could miss any potential issues and provided us with a take away breakfast. When thanking them for their help we were told that we were guests in their country and it was important to ensure we here safe and that the strike would not impacted on our holiday.

Tea Bungalow. Stayed in the Galle room ( 208). Excellent location, facilities and amenities in Fort Cochin. Stayed here for two nights but could have stayed much longer. My A/C room was large and the bathroom, although non A/C hot a weeks worth of washing dry overnight.
The staff couldn't have been more attentive or helpful and they make a mean lime soda and understand the concept of sunny side up eggs. The pool is smallish about 6m x 12m maximum, but pleasant enough as the establishment is also small. They apparently allow non residents to swim in it ( according to the invitees themselves ) and one day the pool was pretty full of young people frolicking. However when some in our party entered the water they respectfully withdrew.

Want a holiday in Fort Cochin close to everything then this is as good as any in its class.

We have just returned from a two night stay at the Tea Bungalow. Staff were very attentive and helpful. We found the food quite good if not a little limited and what arrived was not always what we ordered due to language difficulties but nevertheless the whole experience was a most enjoyable one.

Room Tip: All good rooms

My room was clean, a good size and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size with an enormous shower area. The staff were helpful and willing. Good wi-fi access throughout. Great location for access to local amenities.

Room Tip: Cochin had a small balcony though Calle had a great bathroom/shower
