I stayed at The House of MG in October 2017 as part of a trip for a friend's wedding and at his recommendation.

It was pure bliss. The room was spacious, air conditioned and fan so you choose your cooling method, tided up twice per day. Interior was one of the best rooms that I've ever stayed in anywhere in the world, and the exterior speaks for itself.

Do visit the museum and the bookshop inside the hotel, it's free for guests. And the restaurant on the roof is an absolute must. They do best Gujarati thali in Ahmedabad I am told, and I enjoyed every morsel of it.

Fantastic breakfasts too, the first day it was South Indian and the second day Gujarati breakfast. Both mouthwateringly delicious and very filling.

The House of MG is very close to the Ahmedabad's Old Town and you can book a guided tour at a hotel which is well worth doing.

There is a small swimming pool inside the hotel for guests use. I hadn't used it but it looked great and even though it's only about 12-15m long you could do a few laps and get your heart rate going.

I would recommend The House of MG to everyone. The rating speaks for itself. If you're going to Ahmedabad do yourself a favour and treat yourself to this jewel.

Stay at house of mg is akin to stay in raj mahal by a king ( yourself) with number of rooms at different levels . It’s like a maze where one is bound to get lost for entry or exit point. Portico in between rooms with zoola is a perfect place for gossiping. Thali served during lunch and dinner is worth trying at least once. All modern amenities bundled in ancient heritage building gives an opportunity to stay king size and king like.big rooms with simple yet unique bathroom and wooden covers over AC ‘s and bulbs separates house of mg from any five star hotels. We stayed for two days and explored house extensively . In-house covered swimming pool with painting on roof is the very attractive. Value for money

Room tip: Each room is unique so it depends upon taste of individual

This is certainly not an hotel. It is a heritage building, a dream house, a boutique place, what a place !!!
One of the most unique hotels of Ahmedabad and also of India, this is a luxurious home of a king or a business tycoon.

Awesome place, go go go go here !!!

I have had the pleasure of staying at House of MG twice and would not mind repeating the experience again. We stayed in the standard room the last time and the grand room this time. I would recommend the grand room any day. It’s a bit more expensive but maybe you will get upgraded by the kind staff and management! If you are staying there please find some time to explore the property. They have some interesting art pieces and the use of mirror and art is truly exquisite. They have put in a lot of thought into designing of the rooms. It truly transports you to early 20th century without the jarring reminders of lights and ACs. They have tastefully covered them in wood panels. Original structure and floor tiles have been maintained as much as possible. Their restaurant does Indian food better than continental. Come for the _______ and stay for the experience!!!

One of the most interesting food experience, want to have best Indian food, this is one of the places to be. If you are a fan of spicy food definitely should check the place out. Service is also good, and the best part os ambiance is lovely surrounded with trees and nature.
