what a bad experience one of the worst hotels in goa we have been to goa five times we are aware what budget hotels are like to compare this hotel with i would say it as no star rating at all THIS HOTEL is the pits the bedrooms ,showers are dirty the toilets are a disgrace the pool area is dirty got a ear infection from the pool rubbish left around ants and birds infesting the place they are supposed to clean your room? they change the bed thats it.You cant eat the breakfast unless you are not worried about breaking your teeth on the rock hard stale bread and drink the cold coffee. The manager is one of the worst ignorant person i have ever meet avoid this hotel unless you want your holiday ruined

first viset to india was to candolim beach we stayed in don hill beach resort now called sebastianos tinto. We had a lovely time the accomodation was basic but had everything you need the rooms were cleaned every day all bed linen and towels changed daily staff very helpful.the managment were sometimes more in evidence than actual workers but as it had recently changed hands maybe this will sort out by next season.the chef was excellant service good, the beach was very nice but not so good nearer to calangute or bagu both too busy for us.I will definatley go back india was wonderful.the locals would probably sell more stuff if they pestered you less, however this did not worry me as a friendly but firm no with a smile seemed to placate them but never make a promise to buy next day or time they will believe you.

We arrived at Don Hill on 15th February, 2009 after a long cramped Monarch flight, so we found the reality of the Don Hill a little less than we had anticipated, we spent the first afternoon looking for somewhere to stay, however, after the first night we settled into the
swing of things and I have to say the hotel was great, the cleaning staff were the best ever, Daz in particular, the waiters were great although got it wrong sometimes, but were attentive throughout. It definately needs bringing into the 21st century but that adds to the charm I suppose. 2 star after all.

The Baywatch beach shack was superb Vitto and Godfrey in particular made you very welcome good snacks and great sunbeds and no hawkers! just watch the current at that particular stretch of water as it is a deathtrap!

Shivers restaurant across the road from hotel is superb for the food, service, ambience and he has premiership football games on, we also found Renandos in Calangute excellent as well.

We arrrived early hours of the morning, check in was quick and we got told we would have to pay for a fridge, (did'nt want to hear it at that time in the morning)!

Room was basic but once settled was ok (rm 202) . great for the morning sun and evening sun. Staff lovely and willing to help although a bit slow at times. Clean bedding and towels every day. Managers very overpowering, too many, Gregory (mornings) is a nice bloke and willing to chat to residents, not the others though, It seems they want the indian summer trade. Felt we was "in the way" some of the time. Entertainment was every night and very loud, would have prevered a quiz night and background music. We ate at The Himalayan restaurant, (right, 5 mins walk outside the hotel) , food brill and very reasonable priced, waiting time for meals is very long, but this is due to mum cooking fresh.

Nice area, been before so knew the place. However, we found the police road checks overpowering this year, they often had road blocks just outside of the city perimeters, with corrupt coppers who were asking for money for fines, mostly for driving without an international licience. You can just ask for a producer if need be.

Beaches are changing, they are disappearing and its about time the River princess is broken up, we had a demonstration on the beach, which was good, It is a hard llife for the shack owners, On coco beach, The "luvly jubly" shack serves fine food, and alex the owner allows you to have a free sunbed if you buy his drinks etc.

We were treated poorly on the return to the airport, first time ever! staff not friendly at all. many, many bag checks, which I don't mind but not with an attitude.!

overall I still prefer Candolim to Calangute.

I was a little worried about going on a 'package' holiday, but this was a great hotel!

The staff were friendly and the room was simple, but had everything we needed. It was only a short walk to our favourite beach shack, and to local shops and restaurants.

Although we didn't eat there in the evenings (far too many restaurants to try out!) the breakfasts were simple but ample, and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Having been to the bar there, we would suggest drinking elsewhere as it can be more expensive that other local places (and don't buy your water from there, the shop next door sells it at a third of the price!) and also, the evening entertainment can leave a little to be desired... at one point we were the only people watching the band and felt terrible when we left to have our dinner!!

During the first week, our towels were left in the shape of elephants, crabs and dolphins. This didn't happen in the second week, presumably we should have left a tip mid stay!! Also, there was no hot water (but to be honest, with the heat, we didn't really miss it!)

All in all, if we were visiting this area again, we'd come here!
