Friendly laid-back family run club consisting of substantial chalets built during various periods, all of which function (unusual for W. Africa). Comfortable and clean, serviced by charming locals. Beautiful beach, although some sand has been stripped off over the years by tides. Lovely well-maintained grounds, a small golf course, swimming pools with attendants, on-site shop, bars and restaurant, with lots of others close by. You could stay on-site for a whole visit, or, as we do, go on guided trips around The Gambia, fishing, bird-watching, visiting markets or just talking to the locals (who are very talkative).
Be aware that aircon is extra if you visit when really hot, and there is a staff "golden pot" to contribute to upon arrival.More
