Had the most amazing holiday, truly was The Gambia Expirience. The resort is well maintained everything you need is in the apartment, but there is also an on site bar and restaurant serving lovely fresh food at reasonable prices. Entertainment most nights too. Very clean swimming pools also private beach area, plenty of loungers and beach towels are supplied. The staff are amazing, absolutely nothing is too much trouble they smile all the time and go out of their way to give you a happy holiday. I recommend the evening river cruise seeing the beautiful sunset with a glass of wine in my hand is something I'll never forget. If you're a bird watcher it's a must!!

We have stayed at many hotels in Gambia over the years but Kololi by far is the Best and outshines any place we have ever stayed world wide. The villas are amazing it felt like being at home, you need for nothing. Simple touches make such a difference like having your water and food delivered to your rooms. This place is heaven on earth, waking up to sea views and the beautifully kept gardens and beach area, if a leaf falls from a tree, it is picked up.. its absolutely spotless.

The staff are amazing too, friendly and very hard working and very focused on their guests comfort and needs at all times. We have never felt so relaxed on holiday, at night there is no noise, its a very quiet complex so much so its the first time ever we did not want to come home, there was Nothing we could fault and will definately be returning here next year.

No jet lag, easy 5 hour flight, the Club id well maintained and spacious, free golf, boules, croquet beach volley ball, water polo, but if you want to just chill in the warmth this winter this is the place to go.
They have rebuilt the restaurant this year so we await this with eagerness.

Went the Gambia from the 5th -19thJanuary 2017. When you get off the plane be warned that a lot of people will want to take your bag for a fee and go in their taxi. it takes about 20 minutes from the airport to the Kololi which cost about £20. We were welcomed with a drink and cool towels. Everybody wants to help you but you for a small tip. We had a apartment for 6 people. Theres a pull out sofa in the lounge, a double room with twin beds and another double room with a double bed. Air conditioning is only available in the main bedroom and you have tp pay extra for it. Hairdryer provided. There are fans in the other rooms but it is still hot. Theres also screens that keep out bugs. kitchen and lounge have all that you would need. No T.V. A person comes round to sell you water. You will need this, it isn't expensive. On site theres an 18 hole golf course which is free apart from tournaments. Boules most days are played from 11ish. Theres also water polo at 3pm if theres enough people to play it. A large swimming pool, which is cold and a smaller pool for little people. The beach is very nice. Theres someone to put out clean towels on loungers for you and you can sit there all day and relax. Theres a lot of local people trying to sell you fruit, papers, hats etc but they are not allowed on site so once you say no they leave you alone. Everybody is very friendly. The beach is nice. lovely for an afternoon stroll. The current of the sea can be unpredictable so do watch for the red flag which means it isn't safe to swim. lots of fishing boats come in which are really interesting to watch. The club house happy hour is 5-6.30 and 9-10pm. the food is very nice at reasonable prices. The nearest town is at the strip which is 5-10 min walk. Lots of bars and restaurants. We went to Escala on sundays as it had a buffet eat as much as you like for £10 which was a real bargain. There are some supermarkets but if you go further the supermarkets get bigger. Theres a brilliant chemist. Ask at reception and they will guide you but its not open on sundays. We went on one trip which took as around a crocodile park, Lammin lodge, paradise beach, fish markets and if you want you can go to visit a school. The whole day including lunch and tips for the guide and driver cost about £120 for 5 of us. Definitely worth doing. You see another side of Gambia. The Kololi also has a bar at the top of the resort which has, darts, a pool table and a telly with football on. Theres also a spa on the resort. We had a lovely time at the Kololi. We meet some lovely people and i would defiantly go back.

Room Tip: no 8. Sea view.
