Great place if you want to get away from the beach and discover the mountain side of the Island.Beautiful garden, great landscape. Very quiet place, we loved it . The bungalows are simple, yet very confortable and functional , at at very reasonable price. We loved the "local style" bathroom !

We booked accommodation here for the one night we were staying in Mo'orea, and were so glad that we came across this place.

The jungle-like setting is an unforgettable location, and a welcome change from all the beach-side resorts that surround the Island. To be expected for such a location, the access road is a little bumpy and narrow, but take it slow, there will be no problems, and your perseverance will be well rewarded.

The owners were friendly and very welcoming (say hi to the sleeping cat!), and the unit was equipped with everything one could expect, including wifi.

The places's crown and jewels is its jungle / bush setting, and the units are situated among a very well kept exotic garden.

Some advice; if you don't want to return back to Paopao to dine at a restaurant in the evening, stop by at the supermarket (brand new store right opposite the turn-off to this hotel) and stock up on some food before you journey up to the village.

In summary, this accommodation is very highly recommended, and I hope to return one day.

The proprietors of Moorea Fare Miti recently acquired another pension at a mountainside location – Village Temanoha – and now can offer their guests a choice of either a lagoonfront (Fare Miti) or a peaceful mountain location (Temanoha), or a combination of both, with reciprocal use of the amenities of both locations, the best of both worlds!

During our stay at Moorea Fare Miti in March, we had the opportunity to visit the new pension at Village Temanoha, and we were overwhelmed by the beauty of the location: six spacious bungalows set in a gorgeous mountain setting with a fantastic tropical garden, and awesome views of both Mount Rotui and Mou’aputa. Located in Pao Pao, about a mile up a mountain road from the local school and Are Supermarche, the property is peacefully quiet, and has a Zen-like meditative atmosphere. Once there, you relax and dissolve any tension or worries! You won’t want to leave!

The property managers, Alex and Juillet, are fluent in English, and are attentive to their clients while respecting privacy. The spacious bungalows include a small equipped kitchen, a living area with two daybeds and ceiling fan, and a separate bedroom with wall fan and a huge private bathroom. There is a lovely swimming pool, with lots of beach chairs and lounge seating, as well as bar/small restaurant area that will be renovated to provide breakfast and lunch options, as well as barbecue facilities for guests to use. Bikes are available, and Alex provides guided hikes through the mountain trails. It is truly a hiker’s paradise!

This location immediately appealed to me as a wonderful potential setting for a family or small group gathering of any kind. The bungalows are perfectly set up for families with children, and the central garden with its luscious grounds would make a fantastic setting for a family reunion, a wedding or anniversary celebration, a family birthday getaway. The rates are reasonable and affordable enough to bring a family group and reserve several bungalows at once.

Village Temanoha is a hidden gem, and will only improve with the new management by the proprietors of Moorea Fare Miti, who have already made such wonderful renovations and innovations at their Fare Miti location. We can’t wait to return in July!

This Hotel has a friendly owners and is great place to chill out if you have had too much beach. - or love the mountains. Very reliable/trust worthy, with what is advertised on its web site and price.
Replied fast via email with price and availability. (great web site)
The views walking (very easy walk) down the road to Cooks bay are fantastic.
Around the hotel it was not as hot and humid as right on the beach/coast resorts.
Is very quiet and you need to bring what you need. (food/ entertainment.) Basic Super market is 1 km away.
Great local restaurants/cafe's near by. (which locals use/goto)
Is 1.2 km off the belt road (island ring road) which is a plus as there is no traffic noise. (or pollution)
You can get here with a two wheeled car, or scooter - just drive slowly up the last bit of driveway/ road. I had a pickup from Ferry terminal and hired a car for another day, to tour beach coast areas.
Wifi Internet is free, slow but reliable connection. Good enough for email, face book. (as stated on their website)
