This is real Fiji at it's best. I love Nananu-i-ra island and MacDonalds Beach Cottages is the place to stay. Quaint beach side cottages with all amenities. Hammocks right on the beach. Beautiful swimming at high tide. Low tide - snorkel out to the lagoon. Visit Sunset Point for wonderful sunset photo opportunites. Walk the beaches. Currently a popular destination for kite surfing too. The staff at MacDonalds are wonderful and can cook the best Fiji Indian curries if requested. Maxine, the owner operator, is very welcoming and accommodating. True Fiji hospitality. A real home away from home.

We stayed for 2 weeks and could have stayed for a hundred more! McDonalds Cottages are the perfect place to stay for peace and tranquility, fabulous snorkeling right outside your front door, beautiful walks with stunning vegetation and scenery both on paths and through the 'jungle', a sublime host (Maxine McDonald for whom no request is too big or too small), warm friendly Fijian staff who cook fabulous meals and become like family, gorgeous cosy cottage with massively comfy beds and an atmosphere of utter contentment. The views from our bure were spectacular and all you could hear at night was the lapping of the waves. We will definitely be going back.....many, many times!

Room Tip: one of the two front bures which are right on the water

We had a fantastic stay at McDonalds - Maxine and her team made us feel very welcome and the apartment was perfect. The kitchen was fully equipped so we made our own Breakfast and lunch and just enjoyed wonderful meals at McDonalds in the evening. The accommodation was very well looked after and right on the sea front. The showers are cold but it was warm so wasn't an issue. Its a good idea to take snorkels and food and drinks with you as there are not really any shops. Its a wonderful paradise, very calm and peaceful with hardly any tourists. We didn't want to leave! Thanks for having us.

We spent an amazing couple of days on this small island and we had the best accommodation there. Very nice and friendly staff, beautiful view from our cottage and relaxing days with snorkeling and hiking. We would recommend it to anyone who wishes to have a wonderful time on Fiji.

Stayed there together with my husband for 10 days. We kept on prolonging our stay just because we really liked the relaxed atmosphere and the good wind (7 outof 10 days kite-able)... Its a superrelaxed place with a very friendly host. The windy beach is just 5 min walk. Definitely recommend this place,we will be back for sure.
