Myself and my partner went to Sharm el Sheik for the 1st time in April 12. We found all the staff to be friendly and not `pushy`. The rooms were clean and spacious as was the the hotel. Food was good and cooked fresh but not always to our taste. Buts thats no fault of the hotel. We was a 10 minute saunter to the beach or a 3-5 minute drive in the hotel bus, depending on how lazy you wanted to be and we were lazy!!!! The little beach was clean and again the staf were polite but not over the top. The diving/snorkelling was out of this world. Fully recommend this even to the novice and nervous of swimmwers, just to sit on the pontoon and watch all the fish `cruising` by your feet. What beautiful colours. Another bonus to this hotel is that with the `all inclusive` you can use 2 bars/pubs in Soho square and you get discounts for some of the other resturants. The only reason that we did not give this hotel a 5 was (but it does deserve a 4 1/2) was when we went to the spar area to test the jucuzzi, pool, steam room etc we found that the jacuzzi was dirty, by that I mean, you could see `scum` floating on the water surface and the scum lines were a rusty colour. This put us off trying any of the other facilites. We both have worked in pools and spars a few years ago and we both feel that there is no excuse for this. Do not let that grumble put anyone off going, we have recommended this hotle to a fair few friends and we would like to return this October or next April, depending when we can get leave from our jobs.

I stayed here as part of a competition win, so I can't really comment on value for money, but I can say that I would stay here again and happily pay.

The selection of pools is fantastic, and there are some great activities. If you go premium all-inclusive then you get some things included like tennis, bowling, massage, spa use.

The rooms are pretty basic, not great to be honest, but you hardly spend any time in them!

At first I thought Soho Square was a bit ridiculous - it's like a manufactured town catering to the Savoy and Sierra. But after going to Na'ama Bay, I was so thankful for Soho Square! The selection and quality of the food here was great. My favourite was definitely the steakhouse where we had an amazing seafood platter and steaks. I'd hate to stay in Na'ama bay and go outside of the hotel to eat with all the people hassling you. Especially if you're a woman, because even though I was with my boyfriend the whole time, the men can be really crude and harassing.

The food as part of the all-inclusive was pretty bad. The pizzas by the pool were okay, but everything inside was awful. I just ate toast for brekky and plain spaghetti for lunch and dinner when we were eating at the hotel.

The other great thing about the Sierra is that you get access to the Savoy as well. The private beach is split in two - Sierra and Savoy, and they're pretty harsh about letting Sierra people onto the Savoy half of the beach.

One weird thing is that the sheets weren't big enough for the bed so they'd be riding up off the mattress in the morning.

The staff here are very friendly, not creepy at all, like so many of the men are in Sharm.

The hotel is quite far out from good shopping districts and tourist activities, but taxi's are so cheap (about £5 to get anywhere you want!) that it's not really a problem.

Room Tip: One thing I will say is that there isn't really a 'quiet' room option. Most of the rooms face directly onto a swimming pool or bar area, so you really do get noise until the early hours. Our room was right next to the mosque, which could get quite noisy at prayer time.

Thank you for taking the time to post and share your comments on trip advisor, sierra management appreciate all feedback and are happy to read that you enjoyed your holiday with us. Regarding your food comments we are very sorry you felt this way, our chefs are happy to prepare food on request should you not find anything to your taste. Housekeeping would have been happy to provide you with extra sheets or different sheets should you have advised us on arrival. Sierra offer a free shuttle service twice daily to Namma bay to allow guests time for shopping or socialising at the popular bars and restaurants in the evenings.

This was our second holiday at Sierra, having previously stayed in 2009. We had a lovely room and the whole hotel is beautiful. At this point, if you have already booked, stop reading and enjoy your holiday. If you haven't yet booked, consider other options as there is one big problem with Sierra - the food. There is plenty of variety and you definitely won't starve but the quality leaves a lot to be desired. There are a complete lack of "quality items" available, such as steak, prawns, chicken breast and nice cuts of fish. The fish that was available wasn't cooked for the British palate (undercooked). Barbecue night saw a choice of fish, kofta kebab or chicken chunks and everything tasted of the fuel that had been used to light the barbecue.

My partner and I both had upset stomachs and so did another man that we spoke to. The Sierra has definitely let its standards slip. I do hope that something is done to pull them back up.

Room Tip: The upgraded rooms to the left of the site are the best.

Thank you for posting your comments on trip advisor, sierra management appreciate all feedback
All comments are taken seriously and we have passed on your suggestions for the items of food you would like to have seen available.
Included in your Premium All Inclusive package is a free dinner at Akuna Matata which is including several cuisines like: Pizza, Chinese noodles, BBQ, local food, international and sea food. Furthermore Café Chino (Lebanese Restaurant) is also available complimentary of evening meal. We heard a lot of positive comments on both Restaurants. Akuna Matata and Café Chino are located at the Soho Square and we believe that there are not many hotels that provide the same offer when you may dine outside the hotel and it is included in your concept. Also we trust that this brings the variety to our guests.
Our hygene department work hard to ensure our food is not undercooked and our restaurant staff are happy to have the chefs prepare any special orders for food if you cant find something you like.
We are concerned to hear that you were unwell during the holiday. Unfortunately there are many factors which contribute to sickness whilst in Egypt especially at the moment when the weather is so warm.

Very luxury, modern and clean. Rooms are big enough, well equipped and cleaned every day. Breakfast is just fantastic. Only "2 bad things" about the hotel is 1) location - its little bit far from enetertainment places and 2) no private beach ( you can use the Savoy hotel beach, over the road )

Room Tip: Rooms with pool view are quite noisy!

Thank you for posting your comments on trip advisor, sierra management appreciate all feedback. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay with us. Regarding the location Sierra is situated in Soho Square which was voted one of the best entertainment sites in Sharm el sheikh, with the bowling alley, ice skating, ice bar, Culturama and night clubs together with various a la carte restaurants most people find everything they need here in the square. The hotel offers a free return shuttle bus service to Namma bay twice per day. Sierra beach is located at savoy hotel premises however it only for sierra guests and shuttle bus take our guests down to the beach each half an hour until sun set and our sierra’s staff are always at your service there.
