This is the best hotel to visit in Puerto Ayora. Whether you are staying in their amazing rooms locations in the best possible place in Puerto Ayora (right on the water) or just visiting for food or drinks this place is a must. The staff is incredible and the views and wildlife interactions - amazing!!! Make sure to stop by the Hotel Solymar if visiting Santa Cruz and Puerto Ayora!

Nice central location, walking distance to restaurants, pier, sites including Charles Darwin centre.

Pool is visited by sea lions!
Basic breakfast provided, slow wi-fi (problem in all of Galapagos), friendly staff, clean room with good ocean views. Only Spanish TV channels available

We are currently staying here and are very happy with it. Our room over looks the water. It may be the only hotel on the island with a water view.

The restaurant has some delicious food. I would highly recommend the ceviche. Breakfast is included and has many options as well.

It is only a block from the center of town and the fish market.

They have a sea lion that seems to love hanging around the pool deck area.

The Front desk staff speak English and are very helpful.

We would definitely stay here again.

Our room was very clean and comfortable, and the provided plenty of drinking water (if you felt the need) in the hallways (those 5-gallon jugs). Nice little balcony overlooking the pool. And a FABULOUS place for a drink with friends. Be sure to ask for this (ocean side room) if you want it. Half of the hotel is across the street. Very centrally located; easy to head out to dinner or shopping. The staff was great. Breakfast buffet was plenty and American-friendly. If I were ever to return, I'd happily return to Solymar.

Room Tip: If you want water view, be sure to ask for it.

Great ambience on the water with iguanas and sea lions and herons and crabs. Views are pretty but service is slow and food is just fair for the prices charged. Stop for a drink instead and plan on 25% tax/service.
