We booked a last minute dive with Wreck bay diving going to kickers rock. David was friendly at the phone and helpful with the prices. We booked a last minute day dive for 140 each including a stop at playa cerro brujo, lunch and pictures/videos from the dive.

All in all no problems and everything went about smoothly. They even did a check dive before the real ones which was nice. The dive it self was nice in form of fish and a lot of sharks but unfortunately no hammerhead sharks.

I was seriously cold coming out of the water and here I missed hot tea that we have gotten many other places. Lunch was also nice.

I found the group a bit large and I would have prefered a smaller group.
All in all good but I missed the tea and a smaller group would have been better.

Went with Wreck Bay Diving on consecutive days to Kicker Rock then Espanola. Very professional company with good guides and comfortable boat. As in all of Galapagos day trips the boats are not big and are somewhat at the mercy of the ocean conditions. Fortunately our journeys were comfortable. One of us scuba dived and one snorkeled at Kicker Rock. Did a quick check dive before getting to Kicker Rock. Had 2 fantastic dives/snorkels - clear water, multiple turtles, Galapagos sharks and eagle rays. Also saw hammerhead sharks (visible to both the snorkeling and diving group). Only drawback was that the water was quite cold. Finished off with lunch and a beach stop at Manglesito Beach where we saw yet more turtles when snorkeling off the beach.

The highlight of Espanola is the wildlife - beautiful albatrosses, as well as the endemic red-tinged marine iguanas, lava lizards and mockingbirds. The voyage there and back was comfortable. We were lucky to see a whale on the journey to Espanola. The captain stopped and followed it for 15mins so we saw it surface multiple times about 50m from the boat. Snorkeling at Gardner Bay was pretty - clear water, tropical fish and baby sea lions.

We were recommended Wreck Bay diving by local residents who have been on San Cristobal over 30 years and we would happily go with them again.

We took a tour with them to Punta Pitt.

This is a don’t miss destination– we saw Red-Footed boobies and Blue –footed boobies. The snorkeling was good – we played with sea lions and saw sharks. The guide was good and spoke good English.

It was a long boat ride of two hours but worth it. Nice views of Kicker-Rock on the trip. Lunch was provided – nothing fancy but it was satisfying.

The equipment provided was good. They provided a fitting the night before. They include snorkels, fins, wetsuits and masks.

The Galapagos business model is basically a hostage situation: Nature is held hostage, and if you want proof of life, you have to pay, a lot. I get it, but after paying this much, it would be nice to see the tour operators try a little to justify the ransom. Our "naturalist" could not identify basic birds, and once we got to our afternoon activity (something indistinguishable from shipwreck survival training), he plopped himself down on the beach for an hour and surfed the web while we played Survivor, fending off sun and horse flies. The group ultimately mutinied and actually just swam back out to the boat! Kicker Rock is a stunning destination, so it's probably worth the ransom, but their careless mismanagement of the p.m. beach visit is an absolute business miscarriage. Better if they just brought us back to port and liberated us (but then they couldn't call it a "full-day" and extort the full $120). They have nature providing them a 90% solution in the form of Kicker Rock: Why they can't go the extra 10% and make it a phenomenal day (with minimum effort) is a mystery.

Saved the best for last, this was my second last day in the Galapagos and it could not have been better. The crew were amazing and attentive to all 12 of us on the boat, 6 divers and 6 snorkelers. We were lucky enough to see 3 or 4 manta's flying out of the water en-route to Kicker Rock. I lost count of how many sea turtles we saw and three of us were lucky enough to see a manta swim under us, unfortunately too fast for the cameras. An amazing lunch was served along with fresh fruit, it was the perfect way to end a once in a lifetime trip.
