The hacienda is a charming hotel with period fixtures adding to the ambiance. Yes, it is in the path of the airport, but the planes do not run all night, only until 11. I am a light sleeper and had no issues with the planes.
Ditto to the caution of the rugs on hardwood floors they are slippery.
There is no a/c but I was fine with the ceiling fan.
The staff is lovely and very helpful.
Food at the restaurant was yummy, I had the steak au poivre and it came out rare and was so tasty.
Recommend the hotel especially if you are looking for a place with rustic charm.

On the airport path, so be ready for airport noise day and night. The manager, Manuela Jaramillo, was rude to us. There is no air conditioning and it is hot and sticky place with little ventilation. There is little privacy in the rooms, as you can hear everything people say and do in the other rooms! The water in the rooms has no pressure, so it is just a trickle of water. Some of the furniture is deteriorating. The place is not always cleaned appropriately, and the food was a hit or miss. I think most people who given good reviews are taken by its charming surroundings, but that is really all there is about it. Once you get passed the gardens, the reality sets in.

Room tip: Just find a room in a different hotel!!

The place must have been charming a long time ago. Now it has old buildings and outdated and damaged furniture. A perfect place for a drug lord, far removed and hidden from everything. Airplanes are constantly flying over your head, at all times, including night time. Not a place for sleeping. There are no real places to go hiking or walking around there, including the grounds. The dirt road has constant traffic and at night the neighbors are really loud. The music in the hotel also goes on until really late sometimes. I am not sure how safe were there too.

Room tip: Some don't have AC, Some noise, and some face the lovely sewage filled creek!

The staff was amazing. The receptionist was a young man who seems to be still in high school, yet he is very competent and helpful.
The staff really try to do everything to make your stay pleasurable.
The rooms are all quite different, and well furnished. Being in the coffee region, it would be highly recommended if they had added coffee machines in the rooms.
The hotel grounds are amazingly beautiful.
The restaurant is lovely and the menu is very good.
The bar man is exceptionally friendly and energetic. Great guy!

This antique Hacienda is definitely one the most beautiful houses of the zone. It's architecture show how the Haciendas used to be. It is also located in one of Colombia's most beautiful zones. You get to ride horses, see the coffee plantation ( and learn how the best coffee is made), plus you get to experience the culture and people of this wonderful country. I strongly recommend it! If you are traveling alone you get a quiet place to relax, if you want to get married this place is just magical, and if you come with the kids you get to have a good time while they play around or you can go on there trips like to the parque del café.
