The hostel is clean and the stuff is super friendly. Everthing is nearby and also a pizzeria with real italian pizza is there. For chilling and enjoying barranquilla is it perfect. Grazie per ospitarmi.

I spent 3 nights in The Meeting Point hostel, everyone was kind and friendly. The price is fair and the location is good in a safe barrio. The cosy atmosphere makes you feel like home away from home. They have a well equipped kitchen and a pizzeria right next door.
This was an excellent place. The people running it were incredibly kind and helpful. I do not understand some of the previous comments that I read because in my experience the rooms and bathrooms were very clean and everything very organized. The Pizza restaurant attached was the best pizza I have had in Latin America and of course it probably helps that the owners are from Italy. On top of all this the hostel is located in a safe area with local stores nearby and prices for rooms and the pizza were very reasonable. I completely recommend the Meeting Point Hostel
Its an average hostel, the service is poor, rooms are not very clean and it doesnt smell well. As positive points, it is located in a safe neighborhood, prices are reasonable and its one of the few options you get when you travel to Barranquilla, because it is not a turistic city. However it is ok for staying one night.
The putrid waft hit us as soon as we walked in. Dirty clothes and clutter draped everywhere, cats roaming the halls where the owners leave handfuls of food for them on the floors. The dorms are scary. No A/C or decent fans in a very hot/oppressing atmosphere. The dorms are cramped, yet did seem relatively clean, though the loose live wires hanging from the ceiling was disconcerting. The bathroom was horrible - no shower curtain with water splashing everywhere across the filth.. hair and stains everywhere. My feet have been itchy since we left. The owner family are indeed friendly and helpful, but the padre was smoking in the common area - wafting through the entire building. We noted another hostel across the road upon departure... it wasn't listed anywhere but might be an option. Do yourself a favour, heed the reviews here and stay clear!!
This Hostel was AWFUL! The room was dirty, old blankets with stains, death insects on the floor, and powder everywhere. The bathroom was dirty, the lights were going on and off all the time! the toilet was full of black hairs, and didn't have a chain to pull the water down. The kitchen was all dirty and messed up. The patio was full of broken stuff ---was like an open storage full of garbage-- But that's not all, the Owner was the WORST! He tried to take advantage of us tourists and asked me to paid the amount in full saying the money I paid on the website was for the website "only" and not for him.(LIES!, the receipt says the differential amount we had to pay and that's how it has been in every other hostel I stayed before) When I tried to show him my receipt he went crazy and started insulting me calling me thief, midget, and a bunch of other bad words in Italian. His wife tried to calm him down but he screamed at her too. He kept screaming at me and my friend to get out of his house. It was the worst Hostel experience ever! It Shouldn't even be a Hostel.
