I highly recommend the tasting menu-it is well worth the price. Seven courses of high quality food. The highlight was the seafood platter and the dessert. The service was exceptional-well worth a visit.

Outstanding food, excellent service, Raffaello and his father deliver the real genuine Italian fine dining in the heart of China. Can't miss their raw seafood, unforgettable prosciutto, outstanding pastas and memorable dessert. Spend a night in Italy forgetting being in China. Luxury location, exquisite menu. Can't miss it when in Qingdao!

Good combination of buffé and al carte. The taste was Italian and also the welcome. The main course is quite small so you need to combine it with other courses. Good restaurant

Service was great, however the food was poor. I'm not a picky eater, but I've traveled to many different countries and tried a lot of food. This ranks as the worst Italian I've ever had. Starting with the bread, it was all white bread. That can be good if it's a nice loaf of fresh italian and a tasty seasoned crust, but not when it's the little rolls with no flavor, the only thing that saved it was the dipping oil and butter. This was the highlight of the meal.

Next was the pumpkin cream soup. It tasted like neither pumpkin nor cream. Honestly if you've eaten enough chinese food around northern china, you'll instantly recognize the oily taste of whatever the base oil is that they love to use here for absolutely everything. I'm guessing it's soybean oil. Definitely not a cream base. No other flavors stood out besides the oil taste. Zero seasoning detected.

Lastly was the pizza. Let me just say that if this was a pizza served in the USA, the place would be out of business in a week. The cheese and toppings were fine, but there was barely any sauce to be detected, and what was there was either bland or simply overpowered. I'm talking maaaaybe a few tablespoons of sauce for an entire pizza. Then there was the crust. Normally this is my favorite part of the pizza, but it's like they used the same bland dough for the rolls as they did for the pizza crust. Zero flavor detected. Pizza is usually a nice guilty pleasure, but 2 pieces in, I wondered why I was wasting the calories.

In closing, the food just isn't up to a western standard if you've ever eaten at an Italian place in the USA. If this is what it's like in Italy, I'd give up Italian.

First of all, i apologize for your terrible experience, and next, lets try to understand....Service was great, < THANK YOU > however the food was poor. < DEPENDING ON THE FOOD ORDERED, SURE, CAN BE, BUT MAYBE YOU ARE CONFONDING SIMPLE WITH POOR >I'm not a picky eater, but I've traveled to many different countries and tried a lot of food. This ranks as the worst Italian I've ever had. < HALF OF OUR CUSTOMERS ARE SAME AS YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF, FORTUNATELY THEY LOVE OUR FOOD UNDERSTANDING AUTHENTIC ITALIAN CUISINE > Starting with the bread, it was all white bread. That can be good if it's a nice loaf of fresh italian and a tasty seasoned crust, but not when it's the little rolls with no flavor, the only thing that saved it was the dipping oil and butter. This was the highlight of the meal. < PLEASE NOTE OUR BREAD IS MADE WITH HIGH QUALITY FLOUR FREE OF CHEMICAL, USING NATURAL YEAST AND 24 HOURS SLOW RISING, ALSO OUR FREE WELCOME BREAD BASKET INCLUDE SLICED BREAD, BREAD ROLLS, GRISSINI BREAD STICK, AND OLIVES FOCACCIA BREAD, SO UNLUCKY YOU ONLY GET THE SMALL ROLLS? SORRY FOR THAT......>

Zero seasoning detected. < UNDERSTAND YOUR MEANING, BUT OUR PUMPKIN SOUP IS ITALIAN STYLE AND NOT FRENCH, AND IS COOKED WITH OLIVE OIL, NOT CREAM, USUALLY CUSTOMERS ADDITION TO THE SOUP SPICY OIL OR PARMISAN CHEESE, ANYWAY, WE ONLY USE EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL IN OUR KITCHEN AND LITTLE QUANTITY OF SUNFLOWER OIL FOR DEEP FRIED DISH, NO SOYBEAN OIL....>

If this is what it's like in Italy, I'd give up Italian. < WITH BIG RESPECT FOR AMERICAN PEOPLE AND RESTAURANT OWNER IN USA, I MUST SAY, AUTENTIC ITALIAN CUISINE IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT FROM ITALOAMERICAN, ALOT OF FOOD YOU CAN EAT IN US ITALIAN RESTAURANT OR AROUND THE WORLD, YOU WILL NEVER FOUND IN ITALY, THIS DONT MEANS FOOD IS NOT GOOD, IF YOU LIKE AND RESTAURANT OWNER MAKE MONEY, WHY NOT....
