An interesting temple that actually has many old bits remaining that have not been over restored, the central tower is one of those bits. Many ancient bells are dotted around the area that are interesting in themselves.

Like all such places try to visit mid week and not on a public holiday in order to miss the crowds.

I did not expect much here - just another temple, but I was peasently surprised by the architecture and the beauty of this temple. Although we were here on a very busy SUnday afternoon an dthe temple was full with tourists (99% from China), it was still nice to to walk around in the temple and the surrounding little streets.
Also - the visitor stry to play all kind of "throwing coin games" at different parts o fthe temple - for good luck, I guess. Many visitors may may find thsi annoying, I found it funny and entertaining to watch.
The entry fee is 20 yuan for adults and 10 yuan for children (incl teenagers), which is reasonable for this place.

The tower itself is part of a bigger temple complex, and I would strongly recommend a tour guide to bring you around to explain the significance of this place and the different buildings, statues and drawings.

Typical of the innumerable temples/ palaces etc in China & set in fabulous landscaped gardens with winding walks, waterways, tranquillity at its best.

Well, the famous Tang poem 'stay over night at maple bridge' made me want to visit this temple and hear the gong, though gong/bell is no longer the Tang era's.
It was interesting to realize that Hanshan and Shide are standing at each side of central Shakamuni (or Buddha).
Visited the Maple Bridge. Disappointingly, the bridge itself is close to the Temple. I imagined the Zhang Chi's boat was far away from the temple in the night.
It was interesting to see so many calligraphy of the poem by so many famous or prominent (naturally I assume) calligraphers in many styles.
