Location of the hotel is super as the bus stop to Dadonghai are to the left of the hotel and to the right of the hotel, you get buses to Tianya Haijiao and Nan Shan Cultural Tourism zone. The night market (not exciting as the products are of low quality) is to the left of the hotel.

Hotel room is spacious and clean. Go early for breakfast if you want to avoid the tourist groups. Breakfast is a decent spread and they have freshly cooked eggs.

One downside, if you're not using the hotel's concierge service, you have to walk to the main road to hail a taxi. They cannot get the taxi for you.

I am Chinese and I try to rate this hotel from both Western and Chinese point of views in order to be fair. The good things everyone notice would be the great location right the middle of the busiest part of the city, with shopping and transportation abound. The room is of good size and quite clean too.

When the room faces the street, even at high level such as mine (19th), street honks could still be heard all night long. The balcony sliding glass door is very fiddly to shut, also too thin to shut away noises, some mosquitoes inside the room. The bed is quite hard, even for Asian standard, Westerners will certain have problem falling asleep in that. Another disappointing fact was the lack of Wi Fi, only LAN provided which I did not have a device that could use it with. One needs to go down to the lobby on 4th floor, where they are free wifi at good speed.

Room service menu was fine, although choices were little, the taste was okay. The hotel boasts a massage parlor which is worth trying at the end of a tiring day. Overall. this is an okay hotel if you don't raise the expectation too highly. at this good price, I could live with that.

Room Tip: Room not facing the street may be quieter

Stay assured, I wasn't totally unhappy with our stay here. After all, we didn't got charged too much, but still, way too many things to complain here. We were here for a whole week, so plenty of time to check out things. Now, the 2 points above might sound very harsh, but that's more or less what the rating should be if you're a Non-Smoker.

Despite having asked for Non-Smoker rooms (2*2 people), it was stinky, when we got in the rooms first. Eventually the smell lowered, but not that much.. Friends had to change the room, as theirs was "open", ie you could see the shower and toilet from outside, no protection.

Worst thing probably is the elevator. 3 elevators are too little, and if you've to wait for 5 minutes and THEN get into an elevator who is massively smokey, to stay in there for another 2 or 3 minutes, it really kills your holiday feelings. And yes, it clearly states "No Smoking" - the times I catched people smoking inside, i pointed at the sign - no reaction. And this happened even WITH hotel staff in the elevator. This is absolutely unacceptable!

Breakfast, while having quite a big selection, is not taken care of very well. I've been many times to China, and I've had better breakfasts at many 3* properties than this. Not more choices, just better overall. Sometimes the eggs run out, sometimes the noodle soup, basically the only two choices which were somewhat fresh. There are plenty of flies around the salad buffet, I'm sure there is 100% chance of catching something if you try from there.

Wifi is free in the lobby area (which is on the 4th floor) - acceptably working.

If anything is in English, it's written with LOTS of mistakes, see the "1th floom" picture added - unfortunately it's like this in the whole hotel. Staff also speaks little or no english at all - probably more Russian, though.

Pool is good, and while the hotel is in the city, allows for some swimming. The pool definitely is one of the better things of the hotel. There is no hotel wifi at the pool, but I found a free wifi there from some of the surroundings.

The location of the hotel is really good - 5 minutes walk to many hawker-style food areas, a supermarket right next door, and a bus stop which brings you straight to the beach in 5 minutes right opposite the hotel.

The bed and the shower are also fine, i.e. the rooms are pretty good overall, cleaning staff is very quick and efficient.

But, isolation is absolutely horrible, no matter if you're in the 18th or 20th floor, you'll have PLENTY of honking all night along!

So, it is actually quite hard to properly describe this hotel:

The good: Location, pool, rooms
The bad: Slow Elevators, Isolation
The ugly: Smoking, Flies

Despite only giving 2 out of 5 points, I can't stay I wouldn't choose to stay here again. If you're a smoker, and don't fancy breakfast, it's not that bad overall, especially as you are right in the heart of the city.

I hope the hotel gets some (foreign?) advisors, that can improve those things which are not good at all, and keep those which are good at this level.

Room Tip: Away from the street - less loud..

This hotel caters mainly to Chinese tourists and it feels like a 3 star hotel. The hotel was decent but not impressive. Even though I had a room on the 20th floor, it was rather noisy at night as drivers in China love to use their horns as much as they love drinking tea.

Room was spacious but there was no international channels on their TV, only domestic channels which were rather boring. There was also a design flaw in the hotel room toilet as it was the type that has a glass pane that allows one to see inside the toilet from the room. There is a shade for privacy but note that this shade operates from outside the toilet, not inside and the shade was translucent. So not much of privacy when you are using the toilet.

Taking the lifts can be a challenge in this hotel. There are only 3 lifts serving 27 floors and be warned that you may end up waiting for a long time for a lift throughout the day. There was also no control of who is entitled to breakfast at this hotel. It seems like anyone can enter the restaurant and have breakfast as no one bothers to take note of your room number before allowing you to enter. Having breakfast at this hotel was rather stressful too as you got to "fight" with those domestic travellers to get your food as it seems that cutting queue is a norm in China.

Overall, my stay at this hotel was average. My advice to travellers is to choose a better hotel if possible.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing away from the main traffic junction plus high floor.

I love this hotel..had a great memory..lovely pool, food, location, view..
Rooms are spacious, clean, just great!! Bathroom very well equipped, with hair dryer and everything, umbrella also..Very big closet, excellent bed, with big lcd screen on the wall, few HBO channels, also like:) In front of hotel is a big market, lot's of stores, KFC, Pizza Hut etc..
Generally speaking hotel is very good..I am not sure how far from the nearest beach is cos I was there on business and we had a guide who took us everywhere..but Sanya is a really heaven on earth.
