I've been to about 20 the world over and this one was one of the better ones. The staff was not up to par compared to the Hong Kong one but did the job and could understand me in English.

What I really liked about this one is the decent pricing for food compared to others. Even with the stupid 15% surcharge (Probably because this one is also part of the Hard Rock Hotel) the prices were the cheapest I've paid throughout Asia. Enjoyed the food and free re-fills on soda that you almost never get in China.

The shop has some nice Shenzhen designed t-shirts.

The best part is the Indonesian band that is booked through December. They played everything from pop music to Iron Maiden. Accomplished musicians that interact with the customers while performing and while taking a break. They even let children on the stage to dance with them while playing. I highly recommend you see them and that the HR book them next year too.

Well worth the taxi ride to the outskirts of Shenzhen. No Metro comes near here. Number 4 line will get you part of the way from the last stop.

We have been to over fifty hard rock cafes around the world and were disappointed with the lack of customer service. HRC is known for the staff interacting with the customers and here is was so far from that. The food was great as usual and the staff in the rock shop were more welcoming.

My first visit to a Hard Rock Cafe and I was not disappointed. The decor was as good as expected, as was the menu. Drinks and food were outstanding and the house band was "the right thing in the right place". The service was adequate but the there were two disappointments. First was that, in spite of the fact that Hard Rock is an international franchise and given the number of non-Chinese guests, the staff struggled to communicate in English and were, on occasion, quite rude. Second disappointment was the 'service fee rip off'. It is slapped on everything. We bought some branded glasses in presentation boxes and were charged a service fee of 15%. Spoils a good feeling!

We had to leave again before we even sat down... music was so loud that it was impossible to have a conversation at a table. None of the waiters wanted to turn the music down when we asked. "This is part of the concept" we were told. I have been to 20+ hard rock cafes around the world and this is the first time I have had such a bad experience. I hope management will look into this and get it fixed.......
