“A must-see when in Fuzhou”
Review of Nanhou Street

Nanhou Street
Reviewed 21 November 2017

Been here twice, once in 2009 and again in 2017. It is a fun pedestrian shopping street set in an old part of town. Lots of vendors, lots or restaurants. Too many U.S. fast food franchises for my taste (KFC, Starbucks, etc.) but I suppose those appeal to some travellers.

Thank courtrightkj

Beautifull place with a lots of souvenirs to buy, cafe, starbucks, kfc, chinese tea, local dried fruits. its a nice place to take photographs.the building made from woods, many red lanterns. Walking here just like travel back to very old chinese era. Walk inside in the middle there is a cheap souvenir shop for 5 rmb per item. We enjoy the atmosphere here very much. I love this place!

A mix of culture and people street!
Great place to visit with some villages, to learn a little bit about this interest people and if you want to by some souvenirs and eat a local food... this is the right place!
And of course a Starbucks to drink a good coffee (western way to relax it's valid also)

It is the so called "old city" of Fuzhou, but definitely not original. A lot of shops and restaurants in this area. Shops are ranging from trumpery shops till shops were you can buy really nice stuff. Several museums are located up here, some of them you can visit for free. The so called Opium museum has a nice garden inside.
