Review of Le Bel Air

Le Bel Air
Ranked #11 of 1,120 Restaurants in Siem Reap
Certificate of Excellence
Price range: US$9 - US$23
Description: Le Bel Air' is a bistronomical restaurant that celebrates the two cultures its owners hold dear. The exterior pays tribute to the wonderful country that is Cambodia. The many terraces and the luscious garden remind the visitor of the gorgeous and infinitely diverse local flora. The air-conditioned interior gives a playful nod to our friendly Brussels brasseries, with a relaxed and delightful mood. Xavier and his kitchen staff prove that the Belgian and Franco-Belgian cuisine is a world worth discovering, a culinary experience that will erase all bad lunchroom memories. Xavier's wife Johane and their associate Thibaut work the floor to take care of your every need, giving advice and telling you all about our dishes and beverages. These include a large range of Belgian beers that are nowhere else to be found in Cambodia, nectars from the gods that will dazzle the layman and fill the connoisseur with homesickness. At 'Le Bel Air - A Belgian Atmosphere' we're looking forward to sharing our cosy and cheerful ambiance with you. Join us for an evening that's out of the ordinary.

Owned by a passionate couple, the menu is attractive and the staff very welcoming. The atmosphere of the place guarantees a great time !
My favorite, the brie cheese :)

We found this restaurant through Trip Advisor. The restaurant is situated down a very quiet street so make sure you have your return transport arranged. The setting is simple but elegant and we sat outside with fans and it was lovely. I ordered the blood sausage and apple pastry as a starter because it sounded intriguing. It was a very large portion (more than enough for main) and it was very rich, pastry cooked to crispy perfection. For my main, I had the deer dumplings, roasted foie gras and rostï - it was enormous and still feeling full from appetiser, I struggled to eat this - though it was delicious. BF had cheese croquettes, and the fried breaded chicken and dark chocolate mousse which made him very happy. Together with a bottle of excellent SA Chenin blanc, the bill was over USD80 which is very expensive for Siem Real but it’s a special occasion it is very worth it. Sadly my pics came out blurry because I was 3 glasses in when I started snapping!

If you're looking for a high quality meal outside of your hotel during your short stay in Siem Reap, this is the place to come.
It may not look busy and the Tuc Tuc may have difficulty in finding it (the quieter end of Road 26), but the welcome is so friendly - Belgian wife up front and husband heading the kitchen.
The menu is unique to the town, beers are endless, the food is cooked to perfection - what more can you ask for?
So if you want a change from rice dishes and stir fries, how ever lovely they can be - this is the place tohead for!

We went to Le Bel Air two nights in a row ! The service is very nice and the food is a piece of Belgium in the middle of Cambodia !! It's impressive to see that they really created this famous Belgian welcome at 10.000 km of their homeland !

Once again, I had a fantastic dinner at le Bel Air...
Beers were coming straight from Belgium, the food from Xavier was perfect like the first time and service was to the point.
If you want some extra fun, ask Xavier the chef to play Piano, he used to be part of a famous music band from Belgium a decade ago!
