Silk D'Angkor is called a boutique hotel. I don't know what that word means anymore, but nevertheless, this is a good place to stay. We booked ahead and they arranged for complimentary pickup from the airport. They stood at the arrival area with a sign with my name. You get to ride in one of their Tuk-Tuks with your luggage. Make sure they know the number in your party since two people and 2 large plus one small suitcase is all that will fit in a Tuk Tuk. The ride to the hotel is about 10-15 minutes.

At the hotel they are very inviting. Sida, who worked the front desk, was extremely helpful and kind. We were welcomed and she had us take a seat on the couches while she arranged our keys. We also received a cool drink (something like cold lemonade, but it wasn't lemonade. It was tasty though.) and a cool face cloth. The lobby, as is the whole hotel, has a lot of wood in the design. I assumed it was teak, but whatever it is, if you like wood you will probably like this place. Once we signed in, we were shown our rooms.

The room was adequate in size. We had the two single bed room. They use the energy saving system where you need to put the key card in a slot on the wall to turn on the power to the room. This is so you don't leave the A/C on all day while visiting Angkor Wat and the other beautiful temples in this area. Unfortunately, we found that in one of our two rooms, the A/C didn't lower the temp much. We called down to the front desk and they immediately sent up an engineer to check it out. He did something, and said to leave it on for 30 min and call back if there was still an issue. The room did cool a little more, but I was still on the verge of sweating as I was checking my
Email so I called and they switched us to a different room. This one, the A/C worked well. In the other room, the A/C was fine to begin with, but shut off between 9:30pm and midnight. It came back on and there wasn't a problem the rest of our stay. There is complimentary bottled water, tea, and instant coffee in the room. There is a mini fridge too, but anything in there that is taken will be charged to your account. The bathroom is good and they provide soap, shampoo, comb, toothbrush, paste, and shower cap.

Our two boys enjoyed the pool. It is 1.8m deep at its deepest but gently slopes up to about 1m deep. There is a bigger area that is about 1m so non-swimmers can enjoy. The pool has many loungers and a poolside bar/cafe. prices are the same as American hotels except the local beer. It is cheaper. It is a pleasant place to enjoy lunch and the afternoon. Make sure to wear sunscreen even in cloudy conditions.

They have a breakfast buffet (free with our room) that is pretty western. You can get an omelet scramble (shaped like an omelet, but the egg is mixed in with everything else. They have a noodle station where you can pick your noodle and what you want in the soup. There are waffles or French toast, breads, cereals, some Cambodian dishes, fruit, juice and coffee.

For lunch and dinner they have a restaurant at the front of the hotel. There is a happy hour which is 1/2 off most drinks 4-8pm. A draught Angkor Beer (probably 12 oz) was $1 during this time. The menu has Thai dishes, lamb & kangaroo from Austalia, and even spaghetti. I highly suggest asking the waitstaff for the Cambodian entrees. They are quite good! Again, everything is at American restaurant prices.

This hotel is not far from Angkor Wat and the many temples. We had the hotel organize a tour guide and private car for us. It was about $70 US for the excursion that included all the temples you can take between about 9am and 3:00pm. Definitely get a guide and see Angkor Wat, the temple of the faces, and the jungle temple. The $20 temple pass will get you into all these for one day. You can get multi day passes as well. The hotel can arrange the tour for you.

The hotel offers massages and my wife suggests it! They also have a cooking class you can do. You must sign up 24 hours in advance.

Overall, our stay with Silk D'Angkor was good and we would stay there again!

Convenient location for sightseeing, helpful staff and nice atmosphere. Our managers, Tom and Daniel, made great recommendation about what to do in the city during the day as well as in the evening so we had a lot of fun during our short stay. Thanks to the tourist service had absolutely no trouble visiting Angkor temple and the nearby temples as well. And our tuk-tuk driver Ran, who took us around on the tour, was very helpful afterwards as well. (Note that the prices hotel tuk-tuk drivers charge you are actually lower than of tuk-tuker's in town)
WiFi and all the other facilities are great, rooms are clean and comfortable.

Really fantastic vacation. We decided to stay at Silk D'Angkor hotel which was absolutely fabulous. Very friendly and professional staff, beautiful swimming pool, great location, amazing room, exceptional buffet breakfast, Tours for Angkor Wat provided by hotel, even drivers. I would like to give credits to Tom, the receptionist, for his efforts to make us feel welcome from the very start of our vacation. Thank you Tom for being an excellent host and everything else. I hope we'll see you again. I would highly recommend this hotel to everyone who wants to enjoy Siem Reap.

Room Tip: Room with a swimming pool view

Go to this resort for the friendly and helpful staff! Free transportation to and from airport. Over the top friendly staff. Loved the restaurant. Temperature of the room was a little warmer than I would have wanted, and shower water was cooler than preferred. My own fault for not bringing either up to the helpful staff. Pool was very clean. Breakfast was good and included. Close to everything you want to do. Use the hotel tuk tuk to tour temples instead of paying for a tour. Way cheaper and you'll see everything you want. I would stay here again.
