Cozy and pleasant place

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 18 Feb 2020via mobile
We stayed 3 night at Apsara Greenland Boutique Hotel we had a great time there.

The place supports the local community by employing young locals and giving them the chance to learn hospitality skills. Besides, they try to be more eco-friendly and reduce waste and contamination by not using plastic bottles and other measures. That's why the ambience is so calm and pleasant.

Our room was a Junior Suite with Balcony. It was very comfortable, very clean and tidy, cozy and spacious. We had room service every day.  The balcony is a perfect place to chill out and drink a coffee.

Outside area is full of trees and plants which gives the feeling of being in the nature, just next to the swimming pool, restaurant and bar area.

You have the chance to have a drink or meal sitting down next to the swimming pool.

You have three choices of breakfast included, such us: Continental, American or Asian. Everyone comes with coffee or tea and a selection of fresh fruit.

Free drinking water all day long at the reception.

If you want to relax in Siem Reap, don't miss this place

I traveled to Siem Reap on a whim. This is to say that I had done zero prior research on the area before deciding to go - I was only compelled to visit based upon the proximity of the area to my placement on the island of Koh Chang. “Why not?” I asked myself. I booked my travel and attained my visa within 24 hours of the thought.

The Hopper app connected me with Aspara. Decent reviews, nice pics, and a great price. It was only after I arrived that I realized the gem I had happened upon.

It is the staff who make the space a cozy and welcoming environment. I was presented with a glass of orange juice and a cleansing cloth upon check-in. My room had all the comforts I could wish for - a coffee maker (or, in my case, a vessel for boiling water for tea), refrigerator (I love chilled water) and a warm shower (not always the case in many locations throughout Asia). I thoroughly enjoyed the view afforded by my balcony which faced poolside. With only 17 rooms and 17 staff members, this hotel operates more like a family home rather than that of a larger hotel which knows labels guests only by room number and not, for example, by my name. Over the course of my stay, I was able to learn more about the city of Siem Reap through the staff of the hotel than I did on any of temple tours with a local tour guide. One of the servers shared with me her preferred snack of sour mango and chili (it was soo tasty!), and the Chef was always happy to recommend a dish for me. Another note about the Chef - I am severely allergic to seafood (an epi-pen worthy allergy) and for this reason when I find a restaurant that I am comfortable with, I tend to patron it for the whole of my visit. Not only did the Chef take care that no cross-contamination occurred, but the food he made was outstanding! The Chicken Awok, Green and red Curry, The Beef LokLak - Just thinking about this food is making my desire for it grow!

I can go on and on about the hotel - If you want value and personalized care that feels natural and not forced, you will find both as Aspara Boutique Garden Hotel.

A few other tidbits:
As a woman traveling solo, I experienced no discomfort during my time in Siem Reap.

The hotel is about 1.4km from the city center. If you’re a walker like I am, you’ll find the walk to the city center very enjoyable and culturally enriching. If you prefer not to walk, you can schedule a taxi through the hotel for a ride into the city. The cost is $1USD.

Room tip: Room 205. The view from the Balcony is exceptional!

We are so happy to having stayed at Apsara Greenland. It's a very cool place where you can relax and enjoy all the facilities. They are supporting eco-friendly policies by not using plastic bottles. You can refill water as many time as you wish from the dispenser at the reception.

All staff are very nice and friendly. They all speak very good English.

Room was very beautiful, clean and comfortable. Complementary jug, tea and coffee.

The bar and restaurant are next to the swimming pool. So you can have a drink or meal while relaxing.

It's really good place and is it not expensive at all.

We were there for a couple of days. The staff is very humble and kind. The swimming pool with the patio is very Nice to relax or on a big lounge bed! Food, drinks and desserts are very high quality. Would recommend this any day to families or couples to stay. They even have private swimming pool for the villa, or the family room.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Apsara Greenland. It's a little hard to find as it recently changed it's name, so some tuk tuk drivers don't know it, but it's a friendly place with a good pool and delicious breakfasts.
