Can't fault the Victoria Spa Resort. Perfect location in the centre of town and and opposite the park. A short walk or tuk-tuk ride to the livelytown centre and Pub St. Lovely facilities including the pool. A great hotel in every aspect.

Really pleasant colonial style hotel. The building is an original colonial building and has been tastefully restored in the style of the 20s, including the rooms.

+ Spacious room with tasteful colonial style and a balcony.
+ You can even sleep without air-conditioning and open windows, a rarity in this part of the world (Highly recommended, as it allows you adjust to the climate. You will feel much less hot during the day.) The curtains can easily be turned into effective mosquito screens. Please shake them in the morning to chase the bugs away.
+ Although in the middle of the city the rooms are very quiet as all rooms face the inner courtyard with its lush tropical greenery.
+ Very friendly and well trained staff.
+ Excellent breakfast, both Cambodian and mediterranean French.
+ Restaurant pricy but very good. The Khmer style salads are the best I have ever eaten.
0 Reasonably fast internet, most of the time.
0 Pool nicely set but a bit too warm.
- Ridiculously priced minibar

We stayed at the Victoria for an extra long weekend with friends (who had been to Cambodia previously) and young children (7,6,4 & 2yrs).
The hotel is beautiful, rooms overlooking the pool are definitely preferred. The children loved the fish ponds, and even had the opportunity to feed the resident crocodiles (with staff supervision)
We had one rollaway in our room, and could fit our additional second travel mattress for our youngest in the room without trouble.
The Victoria is part of a network of businesses aiming to reduce the single use plastic bottle consumption in Cambodia, and provide refillable stainless steel bottles in your room you are welcome to use on your trips out for the day, and can be purchased on departure.
Breakfast was excellent (including a glass of bubbles) and the hotel is well equipped for the sunrise start of many guests with fresh warm croissants, coffee/tea, fresh fruit and juice ready in the lobby for those leaving (at 5am) for sunrise temple visits.
A collection of Tuk Tuks are always available outside the hotel, that front of house staff summon on request.
We did not encounter language difficulties at any point in our trip inside or outside the hotel (we only spoke English).
The pool at the Victoria is excellent and just the right temperature and kids club provided the adults of the group the opportunity to go back to Angkor Wat, and up Bakan (the central tower) which doesn't allow children.
We look forward to going back.
