My daughter and I were met at the airport by Mr. Py and our driver. Mr. Py informed us that he would serve as our personal assistant during our stay. We had a very friendly reception in the beautiful lobby of the hotel and were given Jasmine garlands and escorted immediately to our room on the fourth floor which had a balcony overlooking the pool. The room was well appointed and the minibar well-stocked. This was complementary. (We had what was called the “Premier Landmark Package”). There was a bottle of champagne on ice and a fruit basket awaiting us in the room. Our package included 24 hour private car with driver and guide for the Angkor Wat complex. We were also provided with a cell phone for local calls and complementary breakfast. The package also included laundry services for four pieces per person per room per day which was helpful on our two-week trip. Wi-Fi was also included.
The facility is physically beautiful and modern yet retains a Cambodian feel.
Our trip occurred in late April and the temperature was well into the 90°F during the day. When we returned from the Temple complex, we were greeted with ice cold moist towels as we exited our vehicle. when touring the temple complex, we once again had ice cold towels and water when we returned to our air-conditioned vehicle. Our guide called the driver as we approached the car to be sure that the air-conditioning was on and the car cool before we reached it.
There is a small restaurant on the 4th floor where we had our breakfast every morning. There is a very nice buffet. The hotel manager, Mr Sony, visited our table one morning to make sure our stay was going well and offer his services for anything we might need.
We did walk from the hotel to the Old Market area which took about 15 or 20 minutes and was very interesting.
Where this hotel excels is the amazing service provided. Everyone seems to bend over backwards to provide for your every need. There's is a warmth and sincerity with Cambodians that I have not experienced elsewhere. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly.

From the moment we exited the customs and immigration at the airport until we had to say goodbye to our wonderful driver Mr. Chang and our hostess Judy, our stay with the Privilege Floor at the Borei Angkor Resort was first rate. We booked the Sunset Package and took advantage of all the benefits. It was beastly hot during our visit, so we did our sightseeing in the very early mornings, being met by our assigned guide and our driver daily at 6:30 AM. We were able to tour the temples in relative peace and quiet and tolerable temperatures that way, but by 10:30 or so the temperatures were rising into the 90s, with humidity at about the same levels, and the big bus tours were arriving en masse at the temple sites.

Our first day, at Judy's recommendation, we spent the afternoon at the excellent National Museum which gave us a good grounding for our next three days of touring the temples. On our final day, we visited the floating villages at Tonle Sap. Our guide and driver were with us daily, and, between them, worked out drop off and pick up points and times that allowed us to avoid the bulk of the crowds. Our vehicle was a very nicely appointed and maintained Lexus SUV with icy cold AC (thank goodness) and Mr. Chang met us at every stop with a chilled towel and water. We felt so cared for and pampered every step of the way and we learned so much about the history and culture of Cambodia, too.

Our room was large and generally well appointed, although there is virtually no drawer space. We ended up using our suitcases as our dressers, which worked out fine as there was a wide shelf where we could leave them out and open. The closet space was adequate and also featured a safe for any valuables. The bathroom was large, with a claw foot tub and a large separate shower enclosure. Amenities were high quality and anything you might have neglected to pack was provided.

One of the best features of our package turned out to be the daily laundry, since it was so hot and dusty at the temples, and we sent out laundry daily. The Khmer lunch, called a picnic lunch in the write up, is not a picnic as most Westerners would understand it. It can be served in your room (not something I would recommend as the room really isn't set up for that) or in the Privilege Floor lounge. It was excellent. The dinner, which was also included in our package was western style food and less successful. If I had it to do over again, I would ask if I could exchange dinner for another lunch, as it was much tastier.

Breakfast in the Privilege Floor lounge is served until 3:30 PM so if you go out early, as we did, you can come back and have breakfast well into lunch time. Alternatively, you could also have your breakfast in the larger buffet restaurant downstairs, although only until 10:30, where the selection was a little larger and there were a number of cook to order stations.

We had two other dinners (in addition to the one included in our package) on property - one in the buffet restaurant downstairs. It was good, but nothing to get really excited about. The second was the resort 'Culture Night' dinner and show which was a set menu Khmer dinner with dancers doing several of the traditional dances - basically one with each course, and Khmer music throughout the evening. The food was excellent and the dancers and costumes were both gorgeous. It was our last night at the Privilege Floor and made a fitting farewell evening to a completely wonderful stay.

The only extra charge above our package was for going to Banteay Srei, which is quite a distance from the other temples in the complex and was well worth it. Although our driver was available 24 hours, we didn't really take advantage of this feature as our interest was in seeing the temples and we were so much enjoying the resort, and so tired after our hard days sight seeing we didn't venture out. It didn't seem that there was much within walking distance of the resort, however, if you were interested in night life, so, for those who are, I expect the availabiltiy of the car and driver throughout the evening would be a real benefit.

The evening happy hour in the Privilege Floor Lounge featured free flowing (and good!) wine, beers, and mixed drinks, and an ever changing assortment of finger foods to nibble on, and our package also featured a free minibar in the room. We did have to request diet soda, but only one time, as it was replentished daily.

The only suggestion I would have for the management is possibly to bring in an early cleaning crew so that rooms could be cleaned while the 'early bird' tourists like we were are out and about. Most days our room wasn't cleaned until well after noon, which was mildly inconvenient when we returned hot and dusty and wanting a shower just as the cleaning crew arrived at the door. But it is a very minor point in an otherwise stellar stay.

As someone else has observed, there is s smokie smell out doors, and this is noticible on the balcony as well. Our guide explained that most people in Siem Reap still cook over wood fires or with charcoal, and that is just how the air is. With respect to the balcony and the swinging bed, be advised that it isn't very private, and, in our case, as it was so warm, it wasn't very useable outside the early morning to about 11 AM hours as after that it simply was too hot to be outside unless you were at the pool (which is lovely, by the way.)

If I were to do this trip again, I would definitely stay again at the Privilege Floor, but I would come in December/January/February when, we were told, it is much cooler.

Room Tip: Sunset Package is a good value, but be advised that the swing beds are not very usable in hot weather and are not at all private.

Really a very excellent hotel. You will feeling every staff very kindly. Like Alex can speak good Chinese, Sokmen will give you a big smile, Rayou to help to make up the iPad and the friendly driver, and so on. You will be a vvvip in here. You can use a free car with a personality driver to the downtown and the Angkor Wat. It's very useful. The bed and the pillow are very comfort and clean. Free mini bar, good breakfast, and so many free service you will get. I think the Privilege floor hotel is better than many other five stars hotels. It's really a good decision to choose this hotel. It's really excellent.

Where to start? This hotel experience was wonderful. Alex picked us up from the airport full of excitement, energy and loaded with information. Instantly felt like we made a good decision with our booking. To say the staff and Alex were accommodating would be an understatement. I've never felt a hotel try so hard to make sure their guests are happy. The spa services were great and very affordable...they offer a great discount when booking later in the night. Alex arranged a guide to take us to Angkor Wat, where we spent half a day sight seeing and learning about the different temples. The rest of the day was spent relaxing by the pool. We had no problems with our stay and I truly believe if we did have a problem then the staff, with a smile on their face, would have done all they could to fix it. We would definitely stay again.
