We had a really nice experience with Smile Cambodia. Our guide So was very nice, and he had a lot of knowledge about the temples, the floating city, and Cambodia in general. The car is nice, the aircondition was a lifesaver on this very hot day. Would recommend this for everyone who visits Siem Reap.

We had a brilliant time with Sothea on our one day tour of the main temples and Tonle Sap. His knowledge of the ancient history and his ability to teach us so that these stuck is quite wonderful. It was a day full of Hindu legends, glimpses into modern day life, and explanations of army life and life with the Khmer Rouge. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to get themost or of their time in Siem Reap. (And as to proof of how well he teaches, the kids,6 and 8, happily pointed out elements to do with the churning of the ocean of milk or other things they learned while on our own exploration of the temples the next day)

Excellent rapport, fantastic knowledge, attention to detail. You get more than your money's worth.

Today we had an amazing tour of Angkor Wat and surrounding temples with Sothea!
I love history and architecture and have traveled all over the world and had phenom guides...London Rome Provence etc. Sonthea knew his stuff about the history of Khmer and the temples, religious changes, culture. And the best part was he took us to parts of Angkor Wat where there were no other tourists. We had a beautiful sunrise basically alone. No small feat. He’s a cool guy, great English. Def the top pick in Siem Reap! We have a second day with him tomorrow! Can’t wait!

Our 3 day tour with Mr. Phing Bunna our guide and Mr. Phat our driver in Siem Reap with Smile Cambodia provided a unique insight into the awesomeness of the Angkor area. Throughout our visit, Bunna provided historical and personal insights into the many temples and other sites we visited, and he made sure that we were physically able to manage walking through the temple areas in the jungle setting. As other reviewers have noted, the advantage of having a guide and a driver is that the guide can concentrate on providing information while the driver can focus on your safety and ensure that, when you reach the car after visiting the sites, the car is cooled down in the heat. This was very important to us due to the extreme heat and humidity that we encountered. Phat was ready with cold towels and iced bottled water at the end of the walks through the temple complex. The team was very flexible and modified our planned 3 day tour to suit our needs as the day progressed, postponing a planned afternoon visit to Angkor Wat in the heat to early the following morning when the weather was cooler and the crowds fewer. We had a delicious lunch at a local restaurant Bunna recommended. We enjoyed our trek out to the floating village in the countryside, and we were particularly touched when Bunna brought us to his ancestral home in the countryside, where we met his father, mother and sisters and enjoyed cocoanuts freshly cut from the palm trees - it doesn't get much more personal than that! We thoroughly enjoyed our time in Siem Reap with Bunna and Phat and felt we got a terrific value with our tour.
