The hotel itself is fairly average, but I've bumped up my score based on what you get for your money.
We arrived just before lunch and were upgraded to a room with a jaccuzi. The staff member didn't mention it when she checked us in, so it was a lovely surprise when we entered the room. The room was really big. Basic but relatively clean. There were some marks on the walls and things, but nothing horrendous.
Some people have commented on the noise which I have to admit was pretty loud. Particularly from planes. I kept looking to see if there was a window open. the windows are floor to ceiling and fairly thin. It didn't stop me from sleeping however.
The bed was comfy and sheets clean.
The staff were helpful with taxi's and letting us know what we should be paying.
Breakfast was good and the coffee from the machine really good. My fiance really enjoys his coffee so this made him very happy.
For the price, this is a really good hotel. There isn't a huge amount to see in Santa Cruz but we walked from here to the Cathedral and square. Probably took about 20 minutes and was quite a pleasant walk.More
