Quick service, great lobster roll. Lots of claw meat. They offered butter or mayo options. Well seasoned and reasonably priced

We love Shibley's Ice Cream almost as much as we hate their restaurant. Good service, nice waitstaff, great ice cream. I just hope that the place across the way does not ruin their business. Shibley's is a tradition in our family!
Were out on the lake over the July 4th week-end and someone in our group said lets' go get some fried clams so we took the boat over to Alton Bay as we had in previous years gotten good fried clams at Shibley's. Well not this week-end. Old oil, bad batter, the product looked orange and was tough and nasty tasting as well. We wound up throwing most of the clams away.
The scallops were better than the clams but probably because they are thicker so didn't get as destroyed by the bad oil and weren't as overcooked.
Love stopping by this place on a Sunday afternoon to get some ice cream, plenty of flavors to pick from they even offer doggie ice cream, very reasonable prices.
Shibley's an institution in Alton down at the tip of the bay for years and years. A very popular stop, especially on warm summer weekends. There may be a long line but, as the saying goes, it's worth the wait. It is reachable by boat or car, and sits right on Mount Major Hwy. next to the public rest rooms . Great variety, some really uniquely NH like "moose track" ice cream.
