“Great free musuem for young kids”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 December 2011

This is a fantastic free musuem. There are 3 floors of displays. Young boys will especially like all the dinosaurs and stuffed animals. The only item lacking is the lack of interactive displays. Everything is 'behind the glass' type of viewing. But you can beat the price!

“A gem of a museum!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2011

This museum in the middle of the U of M campus in downtown Ann Arbor is a real find! It is a beautiful old building and has a lot of interesting exhibits. The second floor has huge dinosaurs and fossil exhibits. the third floor has wildlife exhibits, and the top floor has a planetarium (shows on weekend only), and exhibits on evolution and anthropology. You need several hours to see if all. The only down side is parking. The have a few spaces out back (park and get a pass from the gift shop). If the lot is full, you have to find a parking garage or street parking with a meter. Kids and adults will love this museum!

“Would definitely recommend.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 July 2011

Spread over around 3 floors, this is a great indoor attraction for spending an interesting few hours for kids, adults or both. Entry was free and the exhibits were really interesting. Lots of dinosaur-related stuff and also plenty on the local wildlife, geography etc.

Would definitely recommend.

“Really cool”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 October 2010

This is a very cool location to visit, and best of all its free!
The next best and nearest thing to this is the Chicago Museum of Natural Science.
There is a great selection of fossils, and stuffed animals here making it a Family Friendly Educational place to visit.

“Good planetarium show, stuffed animals are creepy.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 October 2010

I mainly went for the planetarium show. We saw the show on black holes. It was really cool. Then afterwards the guide talked a bit about the sky we would see that night. It's a small planetarium, but it kind of makes it more intimate. Very cool. The cost was $5.

The rest of the museum is kind of small, but it's a free museum at a university so there you go. One floor is all about animals from Michigan and is very creepy with all of the stuffed animals. Another floor has some dinosaurs, which seems like a big draw for the kids.

Parking is a bit of an issue, I had to try to find metered, street parking.

I would say if you're in the area, great, but I wouldn't travel a long distance for this museum.
