I will echo what some other reviewers have stated- don't go out of your way to take a look. It's a cute and unique feature of Simon Bolivar Park, but go because of the park.

I arrived in Sucre on the last day of their carnival, and I saw that a group of kids and teenagers was using the tower to launch a water balloon and water gun attack on another group down below. I made sure to keep my distance and had a good laugh at their antics.

A nice little feature in the middle of the park but not worth making a special trip for. Has a fairly decent view from the top over the park.

It's nice to climb up the narrow staircase.
The tower is free and located in the Simon Bolivar park.

The Little Eiffel Tower underestimated by the lack of information was designed by the engineer Gustave Eiffel, the same one that designed the Eiffel Tower of Paris. Contrary to what many people think, this tower is not a small replica of the Parisian tower, as they are very different in their design; Therefore, this tower is unique in the world like Its French sister. The tower was built by the commission of the Medical Institute of Sucre to fulfill the function of meteorological observatory. 16 years later it was transferred to the Bolivar Park where actually resides.Unfortunately this information is not given to tourists.

I understood the builders of the replica wanted to add a cosmopolitan flavor to Sucre. Perhaps it works like that for locals and for some of them creates a sense of belonging to the rest of the world. I would have preferred something more indigenous related to the rich Inca culture.
